essentially:

small movement on a strat trem = large trem action on strings
large movement on Epiphone tremotone = small trem action on strings
Does it have less action than a JM unit? I played an Epi with one once, but the owner had removed the arm, so I couldn't try it out.
Others may like to comment as well .. but I would say the normal level of whammy-barness in the tremotone is similar to the normal level in the JM, but on a JM you can then "go wild" (not as crazy as a strat trem , but still wild) which the tremotone does not really do.
relaxing alternative to doing actual work ...

FWIW I played one of the cherry crestwood customs at a local shop and was blown away. The pickups sound really nice- warm but punchy. I grabbed a white one with the intention of swapping the pickups but might leave it stock. Neck is nice and full, esp as you go up towards and past the 12th fret. The tremotone was super stable. Jazzmaster-y kind of warbles but it’s meant to be for subtle stuff...I really liked it. Overall, this feels like a huge leap in quality for epiphone..no wonder the white one is back ordered through March! Glad I snagged the last one CME posted....

This isn't helping my GAS. I already have major GAS for a Riviera.

I really love the green casino. Modding it to look like the Chris Cornell sig would be a lot of fun. I wish I could justify a guitar, but I'm completely out of room and can't bring myself to part with any I already have.

The Crestwood looks cool, but my heart lies with the new Coronet. :-*
Add a vibrola to one with a cherry finish and it'd be a psych/garage machine :w00t:

All of this new line - solid- and hollow-body alike - look to be totally fabulous. They're the sorts of guitars that I think would make folks feel good when they look in the mirror and sound good when they play loud and are not-too-precious so might really get played.

I hope lots of kids get them as holiday presents and there is a great roar that ascends from the world's basements and bedrooms during the winter quarantine.

Now second guessing if I should have bought this guy instead of the Casino. I don't even like Casinos :squint:

Full review, please?

Wow, that looks even better here than it does in the Epiphone pictures.

Congratulations!

That looks fantastic! :w00t:
I'm very eager to read your review - especially your thoughts on the vibrato.

I can tell you the vibrato is ACE. I really like it and I'm quite picky ;D

I haven't used many Bigsby's, but I'd say its in-between a Jazzmaster / Jag vib and a Bigsby. Excellent for subtle stuff, always comes back in tune (even right out of the box with no setup). The spring is really nice and responsive and I love how the arm can be easily moved but stays put when you want it to. Great break angle over the bridge so everything is stable. I really like this guitar, y'all!

I must say that Coronet looks damn fine and I am glad they just didn't go entirely vintage and update/re-engineered the tremotone.
If I didn't have far too many guitars I might be tempted :D

Yeah don't take a picture on a bad rug around here because once I took a picture of a great Les Paul Deluxe on a dirty rug at a friend's house and everyone was all like fuck that rug, man
