Kent Armstrong pickups?

These seem to be pretty well priced, how good are they really?
Times change.  Remember when dog Jimmy used to go white and chalky?  Now it grows hair!  We got used to it. We'll get used to poly. -blueavenger

I replaced the chinese noisemakers in a friends low budget DeArmond Guild-Alike with a set of Kent Armstrong PAF-type things. They were very good for the money. I've also used their alnico single coils on a few projects with satisfactory results.

My take on the situation is that they are similar to the GFS pickups... import made, decent specs, reasonable price, with good packaging and marketing. Of course they can't compete with high-end boutique pickups... but they weren't made to.

They're an excellent value for the money, IMO.
