holy spumoni, i just now dug this whole thread. Bravo, Yannis! i've thought about thinning out my studio and putting the dough into some special things that might be easier to deal with when i'm old, and enjoy along the way. well done, old boy!

That body has beautiful grain :-* ! I love it! The finish really looks spot on. Is the neck original finish? It’s funny, when you see the fingerboard wear on those early maple necks, you expect the back to be completely bare, but it isn’t. They must not have taken as much playing as you’d think to get through the lacquer on the ‘boards. My two Jags and Jazzmaster have ZERO finish left on the back of their necks :D I can only imagine how it sounds. One bridge pickup is an amazing thing. There’s some magic that goes on by not having the magnets in a neck pickup affecting the strings.

That’s a great looking refin. I’ve been following MB’s work for a while. His stuff looks incredible.
100% and he is the nicest guy ever too...he loves offsets, I think he has a pre-CBS Jaguar, if I remember correctly. 8)
Awesome. Mike is great. Glad that you are satisfied too.

Thanks Justin!

Yes the neck is original finish, I think with the shorter vintage frets and the thin finish you could put a ton of wear really quickly on these.

I played it for hours today and with the Matchless on the edge of breakup digging in is so expressive...the whole guitar shakes...it's so cool....a lot like with my Les Paul. Definitely a different animal to a Jazzmaster that feels smoother and mellower compared to the the Esquire. 8)

Did you notice anything different sound wise after the refin? Probably very very minor to no difference but wanted to throw that out there.

This is a very good question and something I looked out for out of curiosity myself, and I must say the guitar sounds as good as ever. The body is just as resonant and it has been settling in nicely, the more I play it the better it gets. 8)

Maybe if the refin was thick poly I would sense something as the old refin was so thin, but I am happy to report we are a-ok. :)

Mike at MB Guitars did an amazing job restoring the original Blonde finish. Here's a couple of photos he took:
That's absolutely gorgeous! Congrats!

I’m working from home today and can’t imagine much actual work would be getting done if I had that to hand. Not that much actual work is being done in the first place, but still.
