Badass and understated/class at the same time. I dig it. And the pickup ring's nice touch.garyptaszek wrote: ↑Wed Jun 14, 2023 11:29 pmpicked up this LTD TE-406 the other day, does it count?

I was looking for a guitar for heavier stuff, and also wanting another tele project. Ticks the boxes for me.

Talking of Telecasters & cheap Chinese guitars, I’ve been quite taken by a relic body I saw on eBay. Tempted to order it & build myself a tele custom…
But I also want a jazzmaster xii. And I’m 100% selling guitars. Not buying them.

I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

i just got back from Japan and picked up an FGN baritone tele with EMGs, for $800 CAD all in. Japanese made, locking gotoh tuners, amazing feeling compound radius neck, 24 frets, frets are perfect, no sharp edges, intonation on point, no dead spots, and ash body... just a machine
i'll get some pics of it shortly (got home less than 24 hrs ago) but this is it (looks like the most current version comes with fishman fluence pickups)

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thread
Yeah I'm pretty stoked on it, it's all I've been playing lately. The setup is actually much better than my US Tele so I need to sort that out ASAP
... and Thrice.
and Killswitch, don't forget Killswitch...
... and Thrice.
no microphonic feedback here. Is that usually an issue with EMGs? I've found them to be very quiet.

Got a stripped Classic 60’s that is easily the most resonant Tele I’ve ever played. Gonna have it finished in black and mod it to esquire style.

If we're cool with non-Fender examples, I would be remiss if I didn't post this fine specimen I picked up a couple years ago. LTD Eclipse NT87 in rainbow crackle. This thing rips!

this is the one I wanted, being that I was born in 1987 and a fan of shred teles. That finish is nuts too!
hard agree

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thread
I’ve probably owned more Tele’s than any other guitar, maybe Mustangs run the numbers close. But I’m down to three now.
The Squier 72 Thinline is absolutely the winner of the three but I love the Classic 60s Tele too. I keep thinking that I want to put a goldfoil in the neck position of the Esquire but lack of technical know how prevents me from doing it. But if I ever find a tech who can do it, it’s on![👍](//cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/svg/1f44d.svg)

I still have to post photos of my new one.. it's shreddy... but also kind of a classic look... might peel off the pick guard just to see how it looks without it...

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thread
I was in Gear4Music in York this afternoon picking up an Orange Super Crush 100 as a backup amp and I picked a random American Professional II Tele off the wall to test it.
What a lovely instrument. Easily on par with any high end Tele I've tried so far. I prefer the profile on the neck of my AO60s one but it was very very nice.
If I was in the market for a modern spec Telecaster I'd pick one of those in a heartbeat

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thread
here's my FGN Tele that i picked up for $800 CAD brand new in Japan.
EMGs, 24 frets, compound radius, locking tuners (gotoh), ash body...it's a beast!
I'm curious to see what it looks like without the pickguard. I'll try it when I do a string change..

Re: Forgot how much I love Teles, AKA Tele Appreciation Thread
That’s a sharp modern take on the Tele. I’d keep the pickguard.
