Bumping this as I just picked up a Kurokumo Ventures 65 ri. No idea what year, but I couldn't deny this one. Never even seen one in person before, so to have the chance to grab it at a very fair price... well it was a no brainer. OG hardcase too.

Isn’t it!
Only bad thing is that the trem was replaced with a Moslike. Works fantastically, but I prefer the original aesthetic. Where could one get a replacement besides Ed Roman (which seem to be like $450...)?

I believe Hallmark Guitars sells a replica vibrato. I can’t comment on it’s quality, as I have no experience with it. But I have heard good things about the company as whole.

Well, that was nice whilst it lasted... but the slim neck and low frets would never make it a regular player and I can't justify having something so nice just hanging about and getting the occasional look in :(

Confession time: I think I may like Mosrite Guitars more than Fenders. It's possible I've been chasing that sound all along...

Cheers! I'm not 100% sure beyond it being 90's. Was originally Sunburst poly but I had it refined Oly nitro last year.

Whoa very cool. I just bought a black ‘66 body for $400, a a mid 60s bridge, an aftermarket black 3-ply pickguard and a pair of black Ed Elliot pickups. Now I’m on the hunt for a Vibramute and a neck.

Ah nice, was that the body on reverb? Had that on my watch list haha! I think Bob Shade at Hallmark might keep some original parts, or at the very least does repairs on original parts if you find anything non-functional. Ed Elliot makes amazing stuff too, best of luck!
