Just remembered this thread, this is part copy and part rip-off I guess !
Jim Harley Les Paul custom shaped instrument, with amazing features such as an half plywood/half 'mystery wood' body, a non-functional trussrod, a mistery fingerboard with reverse trapeze inlays instead of blocks, and some dead frets !
Now plays really nicely with eastwood airline singlecoils in HB cases, nice flatwounds strings and open tunings. Also took a gamble with a cheap ebay chinese fake-bigsby, the spring is way too tall, it goes back to tune only if you put the arm there 'manually', and the handle retaining bolt wants to unscrew itself
. Truly a les paul for the jazzmaster lover !
But it was given to me by a friend in high school, and the owner of the music shop was such a dick about it "how much did you pay for it ? Oh it was a gift ? I don't think I would call this a gift..." when I bought him the missing parts (a new nut and a bridge, which he managed to install incorrectly) that I always wanted to love this guitar since.
And his music shop went out of business recently, that what you get for being a dick to clients.

This beaut appeared in the rehearsal room when I was in my first post-high school band in the late 80s. It actually just floated around between band members and friends as the forever loaner guitar. When the band broke up I was the last holding it. Gear musical chairs I guess. I never really did anything with it even though I put in Duncans at one point. In 2011 I shipped it back to one of my old bandmates who would appreciate the nostalgia value. I had it for 20 years and used it for like 5 hours. wtf?
Voxton was the early-70s Japanese import for Thomas Organ Co. Sandwiched between the top and back are basically just blocks of wood, arranged to form cavities and accept bridge posts. The frets were crazy low.
I presume its somewhere still being used.
* I just noticed my Voxton and the previous Jim Harley post both have the "move the 3-way to the knobs area" mod. And both have stickers over the holes.

Ha, that's funny. I guess when you don't need to be bothered with vintage wiring, you also don't want to be bothered by those long wires going everywhere in the guitar !
Btw I think my guitar has the same pressed top+ blocks inside sandwich construction.

Don't think I've posted this family shot before:
Fair to say I have a thing for Greco guitars, specifically those made from 1980 to 1981.
All killer guitars. But the Tele, which had the lowest specs (and lowest cost) at the time, has extra magic.

I had one of those Greco Teles in high school, and I trashed it pretty hard one night. Didn't realize what I had.
Wish I still had it. Thinline Teles are amazing.

Great collection. Is the Strat, a 3 bolt neck plate?
Also,
Did the factory change in 81? Do you know?

Yep, the Strat is a three-bolt neck with Greco's version of the Micro-Tilt (unlike the Fender version, it actually works). It's an SE-700 from 1980, Fujigengakki on the plate. Don't believe the factory changed in 81.

There are threads here already for these two … but if we are talking "copy" then they at least should make an appearance.
Chinese made, both are awesome players and sound great.
