I love those wild Bigsby conversions. Shame it's a goddamn Bigsby though...would much prefer a Vibrola/Maestro

A short one though.

What would be the best bang-for-buck 58 style V out there? I'd almost certainly put P90s in regardless so pickups aren't a factor
Vintage VV60

Best bang for your buck?
Greco, Burny, Fernandes, Orville or Aria. Solid instruments that hold their used value.

That blue is SO good. You don't often see good colors like that on Vs.

Agreed. Flying V colour palettes are so lame that I got excited to find a two-tone sunburst 2015 model. My other ones are black and white.
I've been seriously considering a refinish in something loud, but it feels like a waste since they're all in decent condition. I'm hoping I'll find a super cheap one with a beat up or nasty looking finish, so that I have an excuse. Maybe something with a repaired headstock break that would be covered up by the refin.

I just missed out on a blue lpb. It was a bolt on neck though.
I was on the fence, then when i decided to go for it, it was no longer listed.
Not sure how i feel about that Bigsby though...

I'm sure of how I feel. It looks like a codpiece, but one that's...orthotic, for some reason.
I adore the way Flying Vs play while sitting down though, so anything that interferes with that (like a Bigsby, or when they move the output jack to the inside of the lower wing) instantly kills the appeal. It manages to take one of the guitar's strengths and turns it into a weakness. You can only play it standing, and it'll be much heavier on the strap to boot.
The most functional option is a Les Trem. It may not have a funky vintage look, but it works better than a Vibrola and weighs way less than a Bigsby, without interfering with the ergonomics.

To be fair though, your black and white one is FIRE
Granted, you still had to change it a bit to get it that way, but it's so good.

Sounds like a good excuse to make your own...

I LOVE Les Trems. Such a cool piece of equipment. I've got 2 on different guitars, and another on a project for a friend. I like that they work using so much less space on the body, especially for something like a V.

I don't like the look of les trems at all. I prefer the short lyre.
The lyre vibrola on that SG greco I had was pretty badass..
Edit..
These style of les trem i don't mind...

Thanks. I love the way the white one turned out in the end, but I'd still love a purple metallic or blue/green sparkle on one of them.
I'm also planning to try out a Les Trem and roller bridge on whichever of my Vs ends up with the Twangmasters. Feels like something that needs to be done.

That would be killer! I'm imagining a purple sparkle V, like a V-version of Sid's Andromedary
The Andromedary
Honestly, still probably my all-time favorite build from OSG...

In my early days of OSG I quickly found out with Jaguars, from all the helpful people here, that my favorite color, sherwood green, and my favorite neck option, blocks and binding, never existed on a USA production model.
My love of B&B necks extends to Gibsons, but I like those little blocks. Of course there are no versions of this on Flying Vs.
How am I going to get a V with that amazing purple sparkle finish and a small block B&B neck with a nice pointy headstock??!!? That's going to cost me a king's ransom.

You're going to buy an Edwards Flying V (Made in Japan, by ESP) and have it refinished in purple sparkle.
At least, that's what I've been considering doing for the last few months
My only concern is that I've never felt the Edwards neck profile, and I can't get them locally. I don't want to go through all that trouble, only to find out I hate the neck profile or something.
But seriously, those MIJ Edwards Vs have binding and small blocks...my absolute ideal look.
