wow, even without the longer scale, it's a cool tele  :-*

i was thinking of adding a JM trem to a tele body, and thins makes me want to more!

the joe barden (probably) pickups in it must sound tits. i've got a couple strat sets of my own, but no tele's yet...

if i wasn't so broke after my 66 jazzy purchase, this project would be in the parts ordering stage right now...  :'(

ah, well... i'll get to it eventually...  8)

IMO, the tailpiece should be further back...

Here's another one...Standard scale.  Ignore the buzzstop. ::)

maybe the position has something to do with the strap button's screw not entering the trem cavitiy...?

that was the first thing i noticed, but thought it probably had something to do with string angle/sustain, etc...

Good point about the strap button screw.  I would think that if the tailpiece were too close, it the strings would pop off more, due to the string spacing at the tailpiece being narrower than the bridge.  It would be worse on an MIJ, since the tailpiece spacing is very narrow.

hmmm, yeah, i didn't consider the  pop off factor... wouldn't the downwards pressure of the closer trem string angle help hold the strigns in place? (sort of like how the buzzstop works?)

Yes and no.  It's the spacing at the tailpiece that would pull them off in this case...I would think.  I think that's why the above one has a buzzstop.

I can't find out anything else about it. That pic is from the Coverdale/Page album but the album doesnt mention him using a baritone. I did find out that his oly white tele (originally Jeff Beck's), the dragon, the brown bomber, and the black b-bender are all the same guitar, which I didn't know. Maybe this is the same body with a sexto neck? It does have an 8-hole guard though which makes me think its not.
