Nice! I hope you'll love it as much as I love my Oly White AVII '61 Strat. I just modded it with a 920D Custom Loaded S7W 7-Way Switch Wiring Harness Mod for S-Style (I gots to have my neck & bridge tone). :)

That Oly White must be nice ! yeah the 7 way definitely gives a nice option there with Bridge and Neck...

I had never never never even considered a Strat until one night when (drunkenly) looking at a site for a mate who is after a Strat, I stumbled on this:
https://www.fender.com/en-AU/electric-g ... l?rdl=true
Image

I have been loving it. then.... the Fiesta Red in vintage spec hit my radar....

now I must move on from you giving me indecent (and expensive) thoughts about Olympic White Strats like this AVII in Oly (same as yours?):

EDIT: seeing those two photos together proves how stupid it is that I bought the AVII after the AmPro II.

Oh, right now the radio is playing a beloved Aussie Band called AUSTRALIAN CRAWL that had a predilection for Fenders.

this clip doesn't feature much guitar footage but lotsa 80s Aussies fashion, hair, beer brands and cars
lotsa Fender sound and footage in this song of theirs (Strat, Tele, Jazz Bass, JM) :

My Strat is a 1984 Tokai body (original pickups and tremolo) with a neck that a friend recently gave to me as a gift! It's a 2014 '56 AVRI neck. I love the super soft V profile and heavy rolled over edges. The pickups are beautiful sounding. They're pretty useless for live with any sort of distortion (and loud-ish volume) because they're not potted and scream in an unpleasant way. But for clean and overdrive in the studio it doesn't get much better. The original bridge is amazing. It feels like a proper old Fender piece of hardware.

I finally feel like I have a really good strat 8)

Just installed a new set of pickups in my American Standard Ash Strat, and I have to say, I'm happy with them so far! I got a set of Bootstrap Oatmeal Stouts, which are approx. 8.4k in the neck and middle, and then 9.5k in the bridge. Definitely a jump in output from the Fender Fat 50s that came with it. The Fat 50s were SUPER super bright, especially in an ash bodied guitar. It was just all icepick. The extra output and midrange of the Bootstraps is definitely welcome.

The look of the guitar didn't change, but hey, for fun, here's the guitar.

Those solo albums are so good. The DC EP holds a special place in my heart.

100% on board with all things Frusciante. He was responsible for my initial fascination with Fenders. The strat neck pickup remains my favourite of all guitar tones.

Absolutely loved his solo work, or at least the parts of it that involved guitars and didn't involve heroin. I was a teenager when he did his "6 albums in 6 months" with Josh Klinghoffer right after releasing Shadows Collide with People.

nice guitars ! Llike everyone, I have my fave colours, but man it's so good to see so much variety out there

I haven't played a maple board Strat for a lonnnnnng time. gotta say my Am Pro JM with brand new maple has been hard to fall in love with from a tactile point of view.
My son has the Mascis Tele with the "aged" maple board and that feels nice to the touch (nice choice, Santa Claus!)

I guess I'm a Rosewood fan overall tho...

Yup, same model. I do love the AmPro II's Mystic Surf Green, Dark Night, and Miami Blue finishes. :?

I'm sort of the same way of buying the AVII '61 Strat after having a fantastic AV '65 Strat (shoreline gold /w matching headstock) but I'm a fool for clay dots...NO REGERTS! :P

All this talk of Frusciante reminded me that I’ve forgotten about Mike McCready.
I always forget he plays a strat.

I love the lavender!

Lately I have been daydreaming about throwing together a hardtail Strat with a single super hot humbucker in the middle position hidden under a completely blank pickguard and wired straight to the jack.

Beautiful guitar, and another excellent demo.

I know I said something similar before, but I love your playing style. It’s fucking crazy and unique!
