How'd you like that Pelham blue special? Is it as awesome as its appearance?
It was a great guitar, responsive, light, resonant, and well built...I had a problem with the neck width of it though. The neck was wider than my other Gibsons, vintage and newer so in the end it had to go. It was weird, initially I thought I was imagining things, but after a couple of weeks I got the calipers out and it was wider at the nut than my other guitars...at least I wasn't imagining things, I guess! :D

Great guitar through, that's just me being picky by this point in my life...if a neck feels a touch off to me the guitar eventually goes.

One funny thing about the SG Special...when I had it for sale, one dude shot me a message: "what's the weight?"

I'm like "Dude, there's like 5 parts on the guitar, it weighs next to nothing!" :D

If it was a Gibson from about 2015 era then there's a strong chance it had a 1.75" nut as they, for some reason, spent a year or so doing that madness on everything. Horrible width.

And the weight question is hilarious

It was a recent one...a 2021 model, the 2015 were even wider from what I've read...I don't know what Henry J was thinking with that one! :D

The most annoying thing about the 2015s is that they made a ton of TV Yellow standard line single cut Jrs that year...I'd love to have one...but...nut width! :D

Oh, I know this all too well. When I was in the market for a Jr last year I was having to wade through tons of those :D so many messages asking for year and nut width I felt like a dickhead in the end

That Pelham Blue Special is gorgeous!
Funny thing is that kind of nut width is something that I find very comfortable and actually a lot more comfortable to anything less than 42,3 mm.
My 62 AVRI jaguar is sitting in its case exactly for that reason ;D

2006 junior, one of 100 in canary yellow for Yamano. It’s been through the wars with previous owners.

I had a TV Yellow faded SG that I loved and sold like an idiot. I think I sent it to an OSG'er in Germany, if I recall? I called it Mean Mr. Mustard. Hell of a guitar.

These new standards are really fantastic.

Although, this s the most overlapped guitar in my collection and piques my ocd.
It may find a home in the f/s section soon.

And the classic…well…for a bucket list guitar it delivers. I swear this is one of the best values still out there.

Uh oh -- I, too, did not realize this thread existed and now it's causing me all sorts of trouble.

Question that should not be posed to an SG-loving audience -- Should I get an SG Junior?

I already have a cheap Tokai LP DC Junior that is fun as hell (and instantly puts me in Blonde Redhead nostalgia world), so it'd be between those two.

Here are my two SGs:
---2013 SG standard - Fugazi was my favorite band for years, so a white SG was a bucket list item for a while (this one sans 70s blocks). Got an amazing deal, and I thought I was done buying guitars after this one lol.
---2019 SG special - mine looks more like a muted blue with less green than the other one posted. I think it also came in Inverness Green, which I have yet to see in real life.

It would be extremely difficult to let go of either of these, but I'd love to have a white SG custom with 3 humbuckers and a vibrola. :?
