I picked up this guitar because I wanted to put a Guild LB-1 pickup in a guitar that I got by accident to hear what it sounds like. It turned out great. FYI in these they are set for three humbuckers by default. Also FYI it is a thinner body. Some people like it because it is lighter, but it makes changing the tremolo more of a challenge if you want to do that. It didn't matter to me for what I wanted to do. It turned out great. The neck feels barely finished which is fine with me. Sweetfinger made the custom pickguard for me. It fit perfect. The knob is metal and the pot is a CTS 500k pot. Nothing crazy. Here are pictures. Sorry for the fingerprints...... it is black....

Nice! But for my sanity, please use black pickguard screws...

Thanks! It doesn't sound like a mini humbucker, but more like their typical humbucker. It is a little larger than a mini-bucker. I am pretty happy with it.

I get what you mean, but it came stock with single ply black with chrome screws.

It gives me a Gilmour vibe that way.

Was it a neck or bridge model LB-1? The neck ones measure at about 7k and change, vs 5k for the bridge model.
Looks like a fun one regardless.

Supposed to be a bridge one.

Interesting that you find it similar to their full sized buckers. Those are quite bright compared to an average full size PAF, or at least mine is. It's definitely got a humbucker vibe to it, but if I A/B it with a true PAF it's a fair bit thinner and brighter.

The Guild HB-1's I have are new reissue ones so maybe that is why?

Looks good! I had a 60s Starfire with the original LB-1s and really liked them. The Starfire I didn't like as much so it's gone but I have a few original and reissue LBs around.

Thanks! I appreciate it.

It is pretty simple which is pretty fun sometimes. (Avoiding all the knobs and switches and just playing.)
