Sheraton is back in the "I" designation with the mini-hums and Frequensator tailpiece.
As is the Broadway
And every model is available as a lefty in every colour.

Lovely Sheraton.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

I hope Epiphone reissues the Crestwood Deluxe. I've loved that model ever since I saw Radio Birdman's Deniz Tek with one on the “Radios Appear” album cover. He bought it off MC5 guitarist Fred “Sonic” Smith.

Love those Sheratons. Not keen on gold hardware though.

I'm loving all this stuff. I never care about Epiphones that are just Gibson knock offs, they're just other good Gibson knockoffs in a world drowning in Gibson knockoffs.
But the more original Epiphone stuff I always do like.

This might be the year I finally get a semi-hollow
EDIT: Not all the semi-hollows are available lefty, but the Casino is, so I'm happy.

Remember Casinos are fully hollow, which I think is even better. My ES-335s were fucking heavy, my 330 (basically a Casino) is light as a feather.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 5:34 am

I think that Sheraton is the best-looking guitar modern Epiphone has released.

If you can, keep an eye out for a 90s/00s MIK model. I just sold mine to a guy who said it was significantly nicer than these newer versions.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 5:34 am

Great guitar. I played it a lot unplugged. Just easy & playable, and loud without an amp. Really useful. Should have kept it. And the P90s were good.
If they did the casino in olive or blue left handed, I’d be really tempted to get another one though.
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

As someone who followed that advice, and bought an MIK Casino, hated it a lot and gave the fucking thing away, I will suggest skepticism. I'll never buy one of those Korean made ones again. It felt cheap, plastic, and not at all like a serious instrument, but I could have lived with that. The unplayable super narrow neck on the put the kibosh on the whole thing.sal paradise wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 10:37 am

The guy said the exact opposite, that the mik model felt significantly better built in the hand when he looked at mine. Weird. That said, I’d be minded to trust your opinion over his every time.Larry Mal wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 11:15 amAs someone who followed that advice, and bought an MIK Casino, hated it a lot and gave the fucking thing away, I will suggest skepticism. I, however, loved the ‘slim’ neck for an epiphone. I can’t even begin to imagine what a big 50s Gibson neck feels like, cos that casino neck was on the chunky side of comfortable.

Re: Epiphone celebrating their 150th anniversary this year
Well, not so much "slim" as in profile but narrow at the nut. I found myself just stumbling over it. Honestly, it was the first time I ever sat down and measured the neck to find out why I didn't like it. Came to conclude that I like wide nut widths on guitars, a preference that persists to this very day, although I'm less rigorous about it lately.sal paradise wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 11:18 am

It might be someone else's delight.
The finish was just slathered on that Casino, though. But that's how they used to do them, thick, strong and just slapped on there. I feel like they probably do a better job now. It wasn't anything I couldn't live with. I do notice that Epiphone is reporting the 1 11/16" nuts these days.
