Aah man!! That bronzy-red finish is just magical!!! Especially with the yellowed binding, it just seems to bring it out even more!!

I'm happy for you, finally having it all together & playing as well as it should.
You think you can't, you wish you could, I know you can, I wish you would. Slip inside this house as you pass by.

Love it!

I've got a Coronado II 6-string that I absolutely love. It's got the same chrome DeArmond pickups as yours, and to your point, they're very very sensitive to height. Mine already had what looked to be the factory spacers, so all I had to do was tweak the pole pieces. They're certainly not going to blow you away with screaming output, but for some twangy country, surf, or jazz, they're excellent.

I've played a few Coros with the black top pickups, and they're similar but more traditionally Fender sounding than these, perhaps a bit brighter - much more like a woody Jag, whereas this is more old school Gretsch.

Well, I sold this (CAR) one a while back- made some progress towards my final bucket-list XII, but I found myself missing this one.. a lot. Those harp-chimey string ends behind the bridge just give it an extra little 'angelic choir' reverb that really does it for me, I guess.

So, not too long ago I found another- this time in LPB!

Neck date is the same- looks like they were both born on the same day: February 14, 1967!

Serial numbers are 35 units apart.

Well god DAMN! :?

The 14 on the neck stamp is the model designation, btw, not the date. But they probably did leave on or close to the same day as a batch if the serials are that close! I'm sure I read that Fender necks were stamped towards the very start of that necks production (which is how the ink is under the lacquer) and not at the end of the guitars construction as a whole.

The other one was good. This one is sublime.

Assuming it has the back panel that Fender famously put on their LPB Coronados?
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?

Absolutely beautiful. A sunburst one of these was the first vintage guitar I ever played, and while I’m yet to get a twelve string of any sort it definitely instilled a desire for one.

Great score! :freako:
Colour is really something else, gorgeous.

Is this the bucket list XII youve been searching for?

FYI, the number stamped in the neck isn't the date, it's the model code. They were both made in Feb '67, but the "14" means "Coronado XII."

Gorgeous guitar, though. Congrats!

Yeah, Johnny already smashed that particular dream. What a bunch of killjoys. I thought they were Valentine's Day twinners!

I'm sorry :-* there's still a 1/28 chance they started their life on the line together on Valentine's though ('67 not being a leap year) ;)

No, but it's a BIG step towards it!

Vintage Fender: Check!
Custom color: Check!
B&B: Check!
Matching headstock: Check!
Electric, XII: Erm, Check I guess?
"Electric XII": buzzer!

Basically I have to decide if I want to keep this one, or flip it- which would get me in the budget range for the 'real' bucket-list EXII.
