Vibrato vs Tremolo

Post by enricosonic » Sun Jan 29, 2023 6:05 pm

Don’t most vocalists use vibrato? Because I was playing some Pretenders S/T this morning and Chrissie Hynde’s vocals are totally tremolo.

Mimi Parker of Low had a wonderful vocal tremolo. One of the greatest, RIP. Still struggling with this one :'(

Two Steps (around the room) is so beautiful. You’re right of course. Another big sad loss for music.

When I think of vocal tremolo, I think of Tiny Tim. To a less extreme degree, Dolly Parton.

Tiny Tim really cranked up thay depth knob, though.

Vibrato would kick the shit out of tremolo in a fight. I’d still root from tremolo.

Every tremolo pedal I've owned seems to cut in and out whenever it's engaged.

Vinatge narcissist Donovan likes the natural vibrato vocal effect so much he even paired it with (Leslie-assisted?) tremolo on one of his best sides.
