We've decided Firebirds are not offset, right?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

I was up all night trying to find a set of these fb720 backups so I can put them in a tele with a short scale conversion neck.
That middle position sounds so damn good if you play it gently.
They're just moderately overwound A2 Firebird pickups. You can get that from any decent winder. I've always gone to D'Urbano/Mr. Fabulous for Firebird pickups. Great work and great prices. He offers A2 and A5 versions and I'm sure he'd wind it to Epi specs if you wanted.

*whistles at the sky whilst not making eye contact and kicking dirt around* they may already be on my watch list.
I need to make a little more room in the rack before I get frisky with another project.

Q Pickups would almost certainly make a set with Alnico 2 pickups at a reasonable price.

I used Zhangbucker and would recommend.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

Also these, although Larry's suggestions are great: https://reverb.com/item/4153568-d-urban ... l-alnico-2

They also make Alnico 5 Fb pickups, as well.

Sorry, posting whilst drunk -- trying to handle Tom Verlaine's death in the best way I know. Thanks for bearing with me.

D’urbano a2’s in the mail.
Not even for this one, I just wanna be ahead of it when I finally dive into the 24.75” thinline cabronita I have visions of, like sugar plums.

Damn you right-handed people, with your beautiful (but useless to me) right-handed Firebirds.

Yes, i’m jealous!

So many nice guitars in this thread, but a Firebird will probably always be just a dream. Luckily Fender makes black AND sunburst Strats and Teles for us lefties to enjoy. :P

Guitars being 'handed' is just an illusion. You use both hands to play them. Right handed people are actually at a disadvantage as our dominant hand isn't used for the most intricate part (fretting).

Just putting that out there...

Haha yeah, and vice versa for us lefties. I’ve often thought it’s odd that most of us choose to use our weaker and less coordinated hand to do the job that arguably requires more of both!

I’ve tried playing righty, and it feels so weird - insurmountably weird. I’ve also got a couple of right handed guitars that i’ve flipped, but the vol/tone knobs are a nuisance. Apparently i’m not Jimi. :(

The grass isn’t that green…
I’m left handed, but play righty and I suck at guitar.

It’s a total bs myth that left-handed people playing right handed are better guitarists.

Yeah, there’s a few older guitarists who are lefties that play right. Left handed people are like 1 in 10, yet they are over-represented in creative industries. With boomers having less access to left-handed guitars in the 50s/60s, goes some way to explaining the “Clapton phenomenon” of over-achieving lefties playing righty.

This. There’s a million amazing rh players.

I don’t often get on my soapbox, and this is total first-world problems. Being left-handed in a right-handed world is not only constantly surprisingly tricky (even at 40, things still stick out as not working easily for me), it’s downright depressing sometimes. Kettles, scissors, tin openers, veg peelers. You name it, we’ve had to figure out a way of using something that right-handers find intuitive and natural. Even the tube ticket gates are designed for right handers.

The worst part is the lack of empathy from right-handed people. Now I know that racism, sexism, homophobia & transphobia etc are far bigger problems. But it’s the same problem- people can’t imagine being something they’re not.

Left handed people are supposedly either more likely to be over-achievers or underachievers. Not sure how that’s measured. But. The point being is that left-handed people also have a far higher suicide rate and statistically die younger.

So spare us a moment every now & again, please :'(
I have nothing to offer anybody, except my own confusion?
