How can i tame down this mint pickguard ?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Put the original on, and once we start getting sunny days, put it outside so it's exposed to direct sunlight for about a week at a time. Keep a record by photographing it under the same lighting conditions every week. I turned an ugly cheapo mint pickguard into a minty-cream in a few weeks by doing the same. It works faster than you'd thing.

The original isn't mint though. That sumbitch is Poison (I won't forget you) green.

I know, but the dye in the plastic will definitely loose some of it's intensity (saturation), and the color will "warm up" a bit. If it has the same color on the back side, you will notice the difference quite fast. Just leave it outside and let the light do the work.

As much as i enjoy the shock value of the green guard, trusty ole parchment wins the day. Goes with anything.

Thanks ,it does look nicer. The pictures don't quite capture the colour of the guitar properly.

I was looking for pickups and settled on a Q goldfoil Tele for the neck, and for the bridge i got a little 59 Duncan humbucker.

So i installed that JB I ordered. It sucks. What a lifeless pickup.

The cheaper Alnico pu it replaced, sounds way better. I think I'm going to sell it and put a different one on the bridge.

Im still waiting for the neck Q pickup to arrive.

With the Q goldfoil pickup from Croatia, now that ive swapped to 500k pots. The JB jr sounds better.

Wired as per the screenshot below. Bridge pickup sees a 500k pot, and the neck pickup sees a 240ish k pot.

Grabbed from Lindy Fralins website btw.. but with a 470k resistor wired from the neck pickup/switch tab to ground instead.

I hate that custom shop neck plate, but its the only one i had handy at the moment.. Came on that long scale Mustang i bought and sold.
