I'll do about 2k each way to Florida and back each year.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 12:26 pmYeah, that's wild. We do about 3000 miles each way in the summer to Slovenia and, after the first time, my perspective on distances changed forever. The British seem to think that +50 miles is far away - probably a symptom of living on a tiny island.

There's a reason for the Cannonball Run and it's largely to do with those massive and wide open spaces in the American west.sal paradise wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 12:21 pmThat sounds dreamy. I’ve driven across NY, which was beautiful and fairly inhabited all the way. It felt a lot like Ireland with more mountains. And slightly more Americans.hulakatt wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 12:16 pmThere are parts of the US midwest where you can drive for 8 hours and you're lucky to see another car, let alone a gas stationsal paradise wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 12:14 pmYou can do Berlin to Calais in about 8 hours on a good day. Not that you’d want to. Nor on a few hours sleep at the end of a tour.
Driving 400 miles in the U.K. tends to be 300 miles of roadworks on the motorways though. Tedious.

That's crazy to me as a Canadian. 50 miles is basically the distance from the westernmost suburb of my city to the easternmost one, and we are a small city by European standards (we wouldn't even crack the top 30, at 1M).johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 12:26 pmYeah, that's wild. I'll drop another clue. Normally you lot get these pretty quickly:
They're all the same brand, and they are made in Asia.

Nope, they're not part of the big boys, yet have been around as long as Fender and everyone here will know them

All 90's/early '00's Korean reissues. With a smattering of hard and soft cases. Including the nice and rare 'Amp in A Bag' gigbag w/amp!

Dano's are the Triple Fried Egg, Chili and Chutney sandwich of the guitar world. All the ingredients are wrong but they just work and are amazing.

Yeap, I've had a couple before - and very recently had one that UPS managed to snap in half - they're great fun
I'm keeping the DC59, the Aquaburst U2 and the Convertible for myself and the Peachburst is going to GaryPtaszek

One of my first guitars was an Aquaburst U2 from that era! I had one of the later DC2's and it was a much better guitar. I think it was one of the MIC ones with the asymmetrical headstock. I know some people didn't like them but mine was great.johnnysomersett wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 12:40 pmYeap, I've had a couple before - and very recently had one that UPS managed to snap in half - they're great fun
