Any decent dual P-90 guitars under a grand?

For guitars of the straight waisted variety (or reverse offset).

Came here to suggest this. Looks great and Epi does decent P90’s.
Also adding to the bandwagon, the new Epiphone stuff is amazing.
I used to have the Pelham blue SG - nice guitar - brilliant for the money, but shocking neck dive, and I couldn't get on with the neck shape - mine was a very flat D with quite steep feeling sides - squarish really. I traded it (and lots of other stuff) for a Gibson LP Special, which wasn't much over £1000 at the time. The Epi LP Special is probably well worth a look - supposed to have a rounder neck than the SG, if that's your thing.
I usually wear a weighted harness style strap to save my back from heavy guitars so neck dive isn't ever an issue thankfully. I like thin/flat necks but rounded sounds good too, and the TV Yellow on the LP Specials gets me everytime.

I don't know what the current market is, but a couple of years ago I picked up a Gibson SG Special the owner had put Lollars in for $600. It had some miles on it, but it's a great guitar. I may be in the minority here, but if this thing had a single pickup I'd want it to be the neck, not bridge.

There are plenty of used guitars with P90’s that aren’t so well known or expensive. In the past I’ve had a Univox (gone), Ampeg (have), Guild(have), Fender (gone), and a G&L that not done quite yet. All of them well under a grand.

a) I'd like to see verification on the longscale Sidejack- The Eastwood Surfcaster reissues are all listed as 25.5" scale, but they are definitely 24.75" IRL. I wonder if the mis-labeling is something systemic. (Also, they didn't go through a re-design that I'm aware of, just new stock batches arriving from the factory.)

My bad. It‘s the Sidejack PRO Deluxe I was referring to. The regular sidejack deluxe only received a different print on the headstock and some new colors...
But the Pro has a slightly different body shape AND a bolt on neck. I found two reviews „confirming“ this - but it could still be a copy paste issue.

One of the only guitars I've ever owned that I never felt the need to mod in any way was a Squier Tele Custom II with P-90's. The neck pickup was huge and mellow while the bridge pickup was honky in all the right ways. They combined together magically as well.

Italia guitars are another option- (of course, I've got a 12-string one, but 6ers are decently available)

Came to say this.

Even if you aren't a LP or Gibson guy, an SG with P90s is still something worth giving a chance. It really is a "Tele on steroids" sound-wise, and can cover a lot of ground sonically. You'll need to wrap your head around how long the neck feels (took a bit for me), but after that, the ergonomics are pretty liberating.

Not sure the SG Classic available for less than 1k these days (lol at prices for these now...) but the Epi versions are still pretty solid and worth checking out.

Thanks to all for the replies, some good suggestions in here. I'm certainly not against Gibsons, and that SG Classic w/ P90s looks perfect. Sadly, they seem to be going for much higher than 1k these days, but I'll keep my eyes peeled!

Epiphone makes both an SG Special and SG Classic with dual p-90s.
Both are under $450 new at the moment and pretty easy to find in stores if you want to try one out before buying.

The chunky neck and simple style of this SG Special is just my cup of tea. I'd buy the pelham blue model in a heartbeat if I needed a new guitar of this sort.

another vote for reverend. i set a pair up recently for an acquaintance. they have exceptional parts, feel, sound, and setup right out the box.

i’ve had to do the most minimal of setups on them compared to any other brand the past 10 years.

If you run across a used PRS SE Soapbar, that might be worth a look. They seem to be in the $500-700 range.
