Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Yeah. I guess I mix and match nickel with chrome all the time so it wasn't really a consideration when I put this build together.
I found a nickel bridge here though. Maybe I'll swap it out.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Seconded, really cool and something I can't remember seeing earlier
Regarding the Goldo trem, the only real issue that I've found with the one I had in use for a while was that the metal tip on the end of the arm wanted to come undone quite easily. Might be a question of individual tolerances or something, but it'd probably be easily solvable with some threadlocker glue or similar.

Hey, do you still have photos from your Huon Pine JM build? I've picked up some Huon Pine and planning on getting it milled up for a guitar body. Curious to see how you worked with it and what your insight is to working with it. Cheers.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I thought it would be way too soft, like basswood. It still kinda is but the way I glued the body together, all the side grain is the other way around.
After a few coats of sanding sealer, it seamed to toughen it up more.

This is just about done.
Just some more sanding.
Have to attach the neck and see if the neck pocket needs to be more shallow.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I get to wire this up tonight!
I just ordered a black pickup cover for the bridge pickup.
I think black looks cool, yeah? or maybe white would suit it.
Anyway, I'm pretty happy with this green bastard!

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Wow! I love how the bridge thimbles are in different places (one free floating, and one through the pickguard). Beautiful!!!

Oooh yeah, that looks really good. That's a fantastic color of green too. Is that Mustang style switching?
