You're right. Also, it's meant to be a budget build after all. I'll see how I go. There's no rush to finish it.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 02, 2021 4:48 amHonestly Pat, I'd just rock that as an almost tobacco burst. Or take the black further and make it a black/yellow burst...

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I sanded the front back down to wood. (which was a pain in the ass). And re-painted the whole thing.
I'm much more happy with it now.

Dunno why, but i love looking at nicely done cavity routing, and that is some super clean work right there.
Nice sunburst too!

Thank you!
The burst makes the cheap tort look a lot nicer, I reckon. The yellow's match up.

I couldn't resist assembling this all together.
I haven't wired or set it up yet. Haven't even polished the body. Might not?

This bass is all patched up ready to be painted.
Glued a block of alder in it. It's a pretty good fit. Just hope none of it shows through the finish.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
I gotta stop buying these things.
Haven't done anthing to it yet apart from upgrading the tuners with Gotoh's.
Shimmed the neck and stopped the bridge from rocking. apart from that, I might leave it.
Although the bridge pickup is a tad weak.
The tremolo is nice. Seems to be the correct string spacing? Not narrow like the Japanse ones.

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
Love the pink! Is that guard black or really dark tort?

It's dark tort. Looks pretty good. Dunno if I'll change it yet. My friend described the guitar as an iced vovo

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
It does!! Pink isn't my favorite color, but I'd rock the hell out of a guitar like that

Re: Cross Guitars - projects and restorations
It's a little too pink for me, tbh. I have another shell pink jazzmaster which is more faded pastel which looks nicer.
But all my guitars would be pink or sonic blue if i had it my way.

That's how I feel about orange. I'd have something orange on the guitar every time.
