Looking good! It'll be nice to see the color go on. And the neck. And all the hardware.

Everyone's favourite style of bridge for an offset, the tune-o-matic!

Cool stuff! Are the posts screwed into wood inserts, or did you go the rivnuts attached directly to the plate?
I've only two build using rivnuts on a plate over a hollow cavity, but I swear it does something to the sound of the guitar. Both sounded really rich, almost in a semi-hollow body way.

Nah, regular post studs straight into the wood.
The lip of the stud actually sits above the plate.
I'll be routing a channel where the string holes are. Maybe that will create some kind of resonance.

For something not using a tremolo/vibrato at all, I'd have no problem using a Tune-o-matic. That thing is amazing! Love the lefty content Cross

I generally agree, with my only issue being that the ToM saddles are a bit sharp - I filed down my old Eclipse's saddle corners because I kept cutting the side of my hand and that guitar was too nice to get bloody.Shadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 17, 2020 6:17 amFor something not using a tremolo/vibrato at all, I'd have no problem using a Tune-o-matic. Great guitars! Curious, do you use native woods? Not familiar with the trees in Australia, matter of fact ,
not really familiar with anything Australian, but I would love to visit.

I use whatever I can get my hands on.
These two guitars are made from hoop pine, which I think is from Queensland?
But I actually prefer to use alder.
Occasionally I will come across Tasmanian timbers like blackwood, huon pine and King Billy pine.
