Yeah, one of those long "airline" bits. Most importantly though, I have a 3D printed jig I designed. It was my first time using it, but it worked exactly as I hoped. I'm looking forward to seeing how the hole comes out once I sand in the transition.CROSS_guitars wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 9:52 pmThePearDream wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:40 pmI've managed to make myself a few decent necks recently. Practice makes perfect though, so I'm working on a few more using budget friendly B grade woods. All three are 22.5" and one is a lefty just because.
I'm thinking of putting one on a Bullet Mustang body and making a 3/4 Duo-Sonic II.
what's your method for drilling the headstock truss hole?
Long drill bit?

Those look amazing! Totally different style than what's on your website. Will you be switching to that, or are they one-offs?Dr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Thu Feb 11, 2021 6:28 amJust wrapped these.

They're one-off/small batch items. Anything done in smaller quantity than 25 i'm not getting enclosures powder coated and printed, so the faceplate is a workaround.

Thanks man! Yes, 25,5 scale and 7,25 radius, total Stratoesque feel. But this combined with Spanish walnut 1-piece body & the Firebird pickup takes it into Gibson territory...quite crunchy and with tones of sustain. Love the result, pretty proud of the body (first time I was building one from scratch) and the finish.

Re: What's on your workbench right now?
MkII version of the Sola Sound Tone Bender. Nothing exotic or changed in this one...same circuit as it was in 1966.
Thanks!!!
