haaa - no - I'm one of those people whose job stayed the same or got busier during the COVID crisis. I need to get a body made and I'm looking for a reasonably priced source!

I really like the look of that but would much prefer a jazzmaster trem on it.

Re: A Bass VI for $200?
Thanks, I was tempted to keep it that way but it felt a bit wrong. In hindsight I should have just slapped it together and called it done.
A JM trem wouldn't fit - the bridge is in the right place, so a JM trem would be entirely behind that. Besides, that's how a regular VI is configured, I wanted to see if I could make it with a Mustang setup.
Guess I need to get onto it. I have an actual vintage Mustang body which is stripped and not-well refinished, I was wondering if I should offer it in trade for a body made to the template I drew.

Re: A Bass VI for $200?
Coming up to the 11th anniversary of starting this thread - could this be the year? I've applied for redundancy at work, and if I don't get it I will be taking some time off over January anyway, so maybe ...

I know but I just prefer the Jazzmaster trem as you can probably tell by every build I have.

There's also this model if you like your six-strings with a JM trem?

I've got a Bass VI. I was really thinking of just a 6 string guitar.

Re: A Bass VI for $200?
That should be pretty doable - Strat neck, Jazz Bass body, mark up the bridge line and drill for thimbles (or just use a fixed roller bridge), put a block behind the neck heel and drill the neck screws, then drill corner holes and chisel or rout for the JM trem. AliExpress has JB bodies for about $40 shipped I think. If only I could find a Mustang body there, I'd have a starting point.

There's a guy on reverb, Partscaster Concierge, who does a Sixty-Six style guitar body - slightly downsized Jazz Bass body that fits a strat neck. He'll drill for a JM trem and a ToM or rocking bridge and his prices are super reasonable. I'm actually gonna get a Mustang body from him soon, so if you wanna wait on that I'd be happy to try him out for y'all and report back.

24" necks, now those are almost impossible to find! As are shortscale bass necks.

Re: A Bass VI for $200?
Whoa that's amazing! I searched all kinds of things on Aliexpress and nothing came up (except Jazzmaster bodies labelled "Mustang guitar"). I should have known I needed to search in Dutch ... THANK YOU.
If only there were other colours. I think I might need to get a custom build because the neck I have will require the pocket to be longer than a regular Mustang body. It's weird that the body you linked is called a bass, the pocket is lead-guitar length.
