^Fender used that shade on an acoustic not long ago and called it IBM.
As you say though, earlier Fender’s IBM is much lighter and nowhere near that shade, which to me does look like LPB.

I think I remember that. Do you know of a rattle can that gets close to this lighter vintage LPB? So far Duplicolor Bahama Blue is winning, but not exact.

I got the exact same result, and I have no idea what this means about me (or my monitor) ;)

I know this isn't helpful really, but in the 90s Fender's LPB was much lighter. I have a 98 MIM strat that's on that border between a dark IBM and light LPB. Here's a partscaster I found on eBay with a 96 strat body:

That is almost perfect. Thanks for the photo so we can still use it as a reference.

Here's a great example. This is an original early 60s LPB.

I've narrowed it down and this is the exact color I am looking for.

That looks like one Copacetic might have done. You might reach out to him! He’s probably done hundreds of different blues by now.

Edit: noticed the other thread so maybe that’s someone else’s work. But Copacetic might be a great resource for you as well.

He's a painter on here or it's a paint brand?

Yeah, Copacetic is a member. He does paint jobs and refins. Excellent work. Haven’t used him myself, but he’d be the first I’d contact, if I were going to get a refin done.

I bumped his thread, so you can see his work. It’s outstanding.
