I’d vote for the JB pick ups. My friend has a set in his baritone and they sound great.

I have 4 baritones at the moment. Two of them have D Sonics in the bridge position. I tune to G and I was looking for a bridge pickup with a lot of low end.

DiMarzio: D-Sonic (bridge): A lot of low end and can be a little fizzy on the top end. Requires some eq to taste and adjusting the gain on your amp. Seem to make amp gain a little more extreme. Surprisingly not muddy. Good for doom or sludgy metal.

DiMarzio Liquid Fire (bridge:): Tighter low end and mids with pretty even top end. More of a modern metal sound. Pretty articulate and unforgiving.

Seymour Duncan Phat Cats set: Really good sounding pickups and cover a lot of range/styles. Clear and not too hot. Really like the neck pick up.

Bare Knuckle Pain Killer Set ( 7 String): I have this on a ESP E-II Horizon. Tight bass response and mid focused. Great for djent tones I guess. I never been too thrilled with these pick ups.

DiMarzio D Activator Set (7 String): Mid focused, clean sounding. Kind of “meh” ihmo. No longer have them.

Those are good suggestions. I am still on the fence. I have single coil pickups so I suppose I could try them and change them if I need to. LOL

Body came and there was much rejoicing. The poor tremolo had been drilled and plugged and redrilled at least once, but it had still been done crooked so I plugged it again, squared off the tremolo corners and marked it properly to redrill.

Much happier now. I also had to remove the thimbles because the ground wire wasn't installed and I like it there vs into the tremolo cavity.

The one piece ash body is super pretty!

I found a guard that fit it well and added pots, toggle, switch, jack, and pickups. Just need to wire it up.

That body is really nice looking. The pickguard really doesn’t do it justice in my opinion.

It looks better in person with the white blonde finish.

I think the pickguard is rad! Sticker and all!

Thanks! I am glad I get to use it again. I had it on a guitar before I liked. I forget why I took it off, but I am glad it lines up with the drilled holes.

Did the wiring and mounted the guard and fit the neck. I just need a better shim and the neck plate to get strings on. :)

All done! I really like how it sounds. The series switch is pretty awesome. It thickens it up and boosts the mids and low end. Sounds really good distorted. I got a file set off of amazon for not too much and it helped me with the lowest two strings. It is tuned in B. Since the tuners are staggered, I don't need a string tree.

That is coming along nicely. I'm not typically a fan of those transparent blond finishes, but yours looks great.
