Allparts D&B Jaguar necks group order (it is possible!)

Hello funky (offset) people.

As a follow up to the new maple Block and Bound necks from Allparts that I stumbled apon I got in touch with them asking about D&B Jaguar and Jazzmaster necks.

Good news for the Jazzmaster folks - they got a batch on the way...

But Jaguar not yet... they told me that they can only order them if I/we take 30 necks for a special order - but this could (not sure about it yet) also mean that we have a saying in the specs. I don't have any specifics yet (price or specs) but this is a good starting point (basically them replying so fast and with that option of getting some already made my da! ).
Can we please order 30 Jaguar necks with Binding together?

GilmourD, Copacetic Custom and all you other assembly masters - this is our chance!

I already got five B&B necks but only one D&B. Who else has these underrepresented in their collection?

The primary deciding factors for me would be the when and the how much.

The when is an interesting question - as those things can take time - here is what they replied to my pricing question:

„The bound version of the JGRO would likely be priced closer to $297 retail cost, unfinished. Finished would be closer to $450-$500 range. We won't know the exact cost is until we have our supplier quote us for the custom necks.

We have a TON of new necks being cut right now that we won't see until Dec at the earliest. It's possible we may not be able to get the JGROs until early next year.“

So I‘m estimating ~ 6 months waiting time at the least (to stay realistic).

But they also offered me to be part of their wholesale program which would have some very clear benefits.

Well, then, I should be financially good to go for that by that point. Just right now I'm paying down a few debts (or my own making).

Neck profiles – C, Chunky C, Soft V
Heel shape
Neck woods: Supplier only offers maple
Fretboard woods: Maple, rosewood, or ebony
Finished or unfinished

All necks in the box have to be the same. There can be no variants. Necks are also non-returnable if woods are deemed undesirable by the buyer. Unfortunately, our supplier does not grade the woods before production.“

Shall we do this?

How have I never come across them before? They have amazing options like channel binding and zero frets that you do not normally see on Fender-style necks.

I'm short one neck if I want to finish assembling all the bodies and parts lying around here. Will give them a serious look when the time comes.

Just went through the configurator and with zero finish it came to $430 the way we could get the AllParts set up for under $300. I mean, I'm sure it would be gorgeous, but "for that kind of money" is not that the same amount of money.

Also... As an IT guy... That configurator could be tightened up into one page without having to add everything as a separate item purchase... It's a bit overwhelming as it is.

• Headstock shape: Pre-CBS Jaguar
• Fret size: vintage tall
• Nut width: 1-5/8" (41.5mm?)
• Thickness of neck (from the 1st to the 12 fret): .88" to .97"?
• Neck profiles – C, Chunky C, Soft V: C
• Heel shape: Standard Jag (Strat)
• Neck woods: Supplier only offers maple ALL THE MAPLE!!!
• Fretboard woods: Maple, rosewood, or ebony With pearl dots and binding
• Finished or unfinished: If a lightly tinted finish is available, otherwise unfinished

What do you guys think?
