Totally off topic and I don't want to derail the thread, but unfortunately at this point I could probably use a new neck. This has aggravated an existing neck injury from an accident two years ago.

Surprisingly I don't think that neck is following the trend of everything else on Reverb these days, like the heavily used "could use a good setup" Classic Vibes listed for $700 while you can buy one brand new for under $400 if you deal with the right store.

The regular JGRO is currently MSRP $259.00 (which feels like an increase compared to last time I looked not that long ago). Back in my "buyer for a 'large end of medium' independent shop" days I would've priced that at 30 points compared to cost, so $185... The JGRO with binding (JGRO-B if we follow their naming convention otherwise, JaGuar Rosewood nO finish - Binding) is legitimately rare and probably MSRP'd higher than $300... So probably pretty fair.

I'd predict that if they turn our little passion project here into a regular stock item it'll probably be JGRNF-MOD-B.

Look at the listing again, including the pics. I'm pretty sure this is just a regular JGRO neck someone added binding to. Look at the pic of the heel. I doubt allparts is doing binding jobs that shoddy. Its possible this was damaged somehow, but this just looks like binding that was installed by someone who didnt fully know how to get it looking professional. The big gap above the truss rod nut, the wood putty or filler jammed in there, general wonkiness of the binding/edges, and you can see what looks like lifting fret ends suggesting it was possibly refretted when the binding was installed.

You know, the ol' brain didn't process it that way but it's not always known for processing things correctly... LOL You're probably right. I know that AllParts did do a run of them at one point and thought it was one of those.

I'm getting ignored by the insurance company now that they say they paid off my car and the rental ends tomorrow, but I haven't gotten the check, yet...

I just caught up with my guy this afternoon. It looks like the necks should be off the line in Japan by the end of March, then received in Texas a week or two after that. Allparts will re-box them individually and ship them to me in three boxes of ten necks each. Once I know the net cost of each neck shipped to me, I'll finalize pricing and start a thread in the classifieds.

Quoting myself here to show I jumped the gun. Mid-April is when things should get interesting, not mid-March.
