Bridge finally arrived after almost a month long wait. Thanks Dan!

Awesome, Joe! I'm sorry for the wait - the shipping has been a challenge, and a bit of a lottery this time around. We are doing what we can to make improvements to the process. Good to know you have it and it's safe!!

Thanks for posting the cool pics - is that an MIJ Jazzmaster? Looks so cool! Do you mind if we use the pics on our Instagram? Cheers!!

Couldn't *not* share this lovely testimonial - this is the oldest guitar yet with a Tuffset!

“It's perfection! Most aftermarket bridges for Jazzmasters/Jaguars solve some of the issues. The Tuffset bridge is the only one to solve ALL of the issues, and retains the 'rocking' motion. Plus, it just looks awesome!

Thanks again.

Anne”

Check out the 1960 Jazzmaster!!

I’d love to be sharing stories about how much i love the bridge, however the courier company here completely fucked that idea.

After lazily not attempting delivery and instead supposedly dropping it off at a collection centre on the other side of town, they are now claiming that they don’t know where it is at all.

Of course I’m following it up, but i’m pretty much over the whole thing at this point. I suspect that, if they do find the package, it will be delivered squashed or damaged somehow.

Sorry to be so down in an otherwise positive thread. I was really looking forward to this, and just need to vent.

Of course I realise this is no fault of Tuffset at all, although I would suggest using regular mail to Australia may be better (and cheaper?) than couriers.

Hang in there, JVG. You will soon forget all this when the bridge arrives.

Yeah, hang in there. It will arrive, and it’s built like a brick sh*thouse, it’ll be fine when it arrives.

Mine arrived a couple of days ago, it looks and feels great, and I could swear the guitar sounds fuller, louder unplugged, but that’s hard to verify without recording before/after takes.

I’m really happy with how thin the supporting posts are, it should give a wider range of vibrato action. Looking forward to setting it all up in my new build.

For now it’s in my Jag-Stang, which has a 7.25” radius, but it will end up in another guitar, for which I ordered a 9.5” radius neck, so I don’t want to mess around with the current setting.

I’ll share photos of that build when I receive the neck and it’s ready.

Man that sucks, I'm really sorry to hear it. The parcel was marked as "delivered" on our courier's portal, but I've opened a support ticket with them so that hopefully they can help get to the bottom of things and we can make sure your bridge gets to you as soon as possible - I'm just so sorry for the wait and all the hassle. I'll send you a PM on here when I hear back from them - cheers and fingers crossed you'll get it soon! 🤞

I'm really glad you like it!! Interesting what you say about the posts - I'm working on a revision to the design that would involve making them 1mm slimmer still in diameter.

There are two reasons for this - the first is, the M3 post hardware would then adjust with the same Allen Key as the saddles. So just one tool for the whole bridge!

The second reason is, TOM/AOM body holes are generally spaced a bit further apart than offset thimbles, and using a narrower post should make it possible for the posts to fit into those and rock without any rubbing or conflict with the hole.

That simplifies the job of a TOM/AOM version. It means I can just focus on engineering the inserts correctly; then, the bridge itself is identical between Offset and AOM/TOM application, and the only difference is the insert provided. This makes it much easier to manage stock and order in volume. It's just simpler all round to have one bridge that fits everything, instead of all different versions that you need a PhD to work out which one you need!

Would the slimmer Allen key be strong enough? I find I have to tighten the Locking Followers pretty tight to lock the bridge..?

Yeah, agreed. Most stuff I've had come from the UK via regular mail is here in about 2 weeks.

Cheers Dan, and again sorry for fouling this otherwise happy thread. The tracking says ‘delivered’ however the delivery was to a collection point, not my place. I certainly don’t expect you to resolve it - this is 100% due to incompetence/apathy on the part of the local couriers here.

I’ve also lodged a complaint/investigation, and every couple of days i get a message from the courier company apologising for the delay, but so far no actual action.

Anyway, I wont write any more here until the issue is resolved, because this thread should be one of celebration for this bridge, which i am confident will be awesome when i finally get it.

Couriers Please?

It’s probably on its way back to the UK.

I was pretty happy with the Mastery I had on for the past decade (wait, that can't be right...is that right?), excepting the orthodontia aesthetic. Mine has been solid AF. But the Tuffset looked smart, and intonation looked easy, so when the OSG discount came up, I thought, why not.
The guitar seems more resonant than before. Feedback comes sooner, but in a very pleasant way. It's only been on for a couple of weeks now, but I see no reason why it would come off.
I am slightly troubled by the ability to knock everything out of tune be leaning HARD on the bridge, but that's a me problem. Installation was a bit of a grind. I backed out the screws to where a couple of the tiny nuts on the underside came out. I had to wear TWO PAIR OF READING GLASSES at the same time to get them re-installed (again, a me problem)...but yeah, pretty happy with the Tuffset.

Thanks so much for the review - I don't consider that a "you problem"! It's an issue we've been trying to improve by extending to 8mm locking screws for the D and G saddles. On an earlier version of the design, those nuts underneath ("locking retainers") weren't even captivated! That was obviously a non-starter in the real world. But depending on the guitar, the risk varies... If you lose one, send us an email and we'll send out a replacement free of charge.

As I'm sure you've worked out by now, they can only feed in (or fall out!) at the extreme ends of the slot / intonation range. I really must get around to making a video that shows what to do if this happens / how to disassemble and reassemble the bridge. That's my bad!

Having said all that, I'm glad you're finding it pleasantly resonant! Cheers :)
