Mustang / Duo Sonic with wraparound bridge

Post by MyNameisChris » Thu Jun 01, 2023 5:23 am

Hi,

Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I wasn´t able to really find the answers I'm looking for :)

I randomly aquired a Jaguar neck for cheap. Now I´m thinking of getting a Mustang or Duo Sonic body (they are the same right?).
But I would like to have a single P-90 and a wraparound bridge. Basically like a Les Paul Junior.

Has anyone experience with this?
I have seen some stratocasters and jazzmasters with a wraparound.
(like this one here:

Would it be better to have a Mustang body with hardtail or tremolo to convert to wraparound?
I'm not afraid of making new holes, etc.

Which wraparound bridge would be best, what are the parts I need?

Thanks for all help and advice!

The easiest way may be to get one of these conversion plates by Faction Guitars. Then you'd just need a new pickguard and a little body routing to fit a P90.

*edit, just noticed they are for 25.5" scale, which doesn't help you. Sorry.

Best of luck with the project!

I had the same thought before I saw they are for 25.5 conversion.
Thank you.

Perhaps a Bullet series (or new Sonic series) Mustang? Since they have top loading bridges, there are minimal holes in the body (just a few for the bridge screws). It should be a pretty clean modding platform. I've read that Warmoth pickguards fit them well fwiw.
