Don't know if these exist....but 3D printing in clear resin and then spraying with clear coat ...maybe?

You can get some translucent covers here https://www.shapeways.com/product/FQNN5 ... d=59589694, although I ordered some a while back and I wasn't very happy with them. This is what they look like.

Thanks. What's the deal with all the tiny dots, is it not a fully transparent finish?dren68 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 10:56 amYou can get some translucent covers here https://www.shapeways.com/product/FQNN5 ... d=59589694, although I ordered some a while back and I wasn't very happy with them. Re: Clear/transparent Jazzmaster pickup covers
I would say those are from textured 3D printer bed, printed by using filament (FMD) ; not resin printed (SLA)
That is why I suggested clear coating it.

Actually, this is what it looked like when I first got it. The first photo I posted is after I tried what the people at Shapeways suggested to get rid of what they called 'spider-webbing'. It didn't work.welshywelsh wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 12:01 pmThanks. What's the deal with all the tiny dots, is it not a fully transparent finish?
Also, it's not completely transparent. It's more translucent, but you can still see through it.

Re: Clear/transparent Jazzmaster pickup covers
Sand it some more with finer grit to get rid of the lines and dots. It will remain "foggy", but after the clear coat it'll become more transparent.
Like in THIS video.
If you do not have a compressor, spray gun and 2K clear coat...don't be discouraged.
There is 2K finish in a spray can:

Re: Clear/transparent Jazzmaster pickup covers
Thanks for the posts all.
I was hoping there would be ready-made acrylic somewhere, but doesn't appear to be the case. With my lack of DIY ability, going down the 3D printing route etc is not for me, so might have to knock this idea on the head.

I wouldn't totally give up. Ask around some of your friends to see if they or someone they know is has a resin printer. I know people in my area sell 3d printed stuff on facebook all the time, and there might be a fab lab you could visit. If you're still looking for clear pickup covers, Shapeways just sent out an email that says they now have 'Clear Ultra Fine Detail Plastic', so that might be closer to what you've been looking for. Here's a link to the JM pickups: https://www.shapeways.com/product/FQNN5 ... arketplace

Re: Clear/transparent Jazzmaster pickup covers
Doesn't look like they post processed those resin covers at all, you need to wash the crap out of resin prints and then re-cure them, then spray some clear on them. Resin printing is a massive PITA....I hate it.
