I placed an order for a set of Surf-Jag pickups for my Marrguar. Apparently, Chris has made adjustments so that the buyer will not have to modify their pickguard for his pickups. Looking forward to them!
That's a massive and important upgrade.

Hopefully he shortens the screws on his Mustang pickups next. Very annoying for the only shortscale Offset-specific noiseless pickups to fail to fit standard/vintage-spec guitars.

Yeah, I remember your posts about your Kinman Jag pickups. When I saw the updated information about them on Kinman's site, I figured they were worthwhile to go for it. :)

Here's a color comparison for the new Kinman covers. The white Marr Jaguar has stock Bare Knuckles pickups/covers. The KO Metallic Jag has Kinman's parchment color and the yellow one has Kinman's aged white. The parchment is very close to the Bare Knuckle covers.

The Surf-Jag pickups are amazing. I'd say a nice blend between a Tele and a Rickenbacker.

How do the surf jags compare sound wise to the Bare Knuckle?

I’ve got a (previously labelled) Blues Jag and a Jalapeño.

Really interested how yours compare to the Marr OEM.

Sorry about the delayed reply. I think the Surf Jags are in the same tone family as the Bare Knuckles. The Kinmans have more output and are quieter, maybe a tad brighter. They also take OD pedals well. Highly recommended!

I've been on the hunt for some noiseless pickup upgrades for my AVII '61 Strat and AVII '63 Tele so of course I'm checking out Kinman pickups. So far, I'm leaning towards the Blues Stratocaster set (SCN-b bridge, AVn-62 middle, and AVn-62 Neck). As for Tele pickups, I'm looking at either the Broadcaster set or the Sixties Custom set. In any case, I'll likely be buying the Strat set first and then go for the Tele set in a month or two.

Any/all Kinman Strat & Tele pickup recommendations are welcome. :)

I hadn't posted in this thread in a while - back in October, I got a set of Kinman Punk-Tang Mustang pickups. They sound great and are a huge improvement from the Fender Vintera II '70s Competition Mustang's stock Vintage-Style '70s Single-Coil Mustang pickups (my stock bridge pickup was really weak). I opted to pay the extra bit to not have the Kinman logo on the Punk-Tang pickups (as well as the Kinman Surf-Jag pickups in the Fender Johnny Marr Jag, pictured with the Vintera II '70s Comp Mustang).

It's on my to-do list to make a YT demo of the Mustang with the Kinman pickups.

I ended up grabbing a used set of Kinman FV-HMS Hank Marvin ('63 N, '63 M, '64 B) Strat pickups via Reverb. Also ordered an Obsidian Wiring harness with the Gilmouor 7-Way Mod. I'm good at soldering but I've been wanting a chance to try out this solderless rig. 8)

I bought the Kinman Fatmasters for my Jazzmaster. I'm enjoying them! It's funny how they seem to be quieter than humbuckers. Completely silent, in fact.

Anyway, I was considering the Hank Marvin set for another guitar, so I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this new set, once you get them installed.

Nice! I've got the Surfmasters in one of my JM's and I'll likely end up with a set of Kinman Fatmasters for a JM build I've currently have in the works. :)
