sure does look like it from this later post: https://www.reddit.com/r/offset/comment ... _new_baby/ainm wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 1:52 pmAh, of course! The finish threw me off. Here it is before that finish, I believe: https://www.reddit.com/r/offset/comment ... p_mustang/
seems like the original plan was to make a cyclone style guitar with a mustang trem and then evolved into this. very interesting find.

I actually think a Bilindafied Mustang 90 would be just fine with only that one mod. A case of less is more if ever there was one.

Re: mustang freak project incoming.
I really like the idea of a Bilindastang with firebird pickups. If it were me I'd either put in the mustang pickups or cyclone pickups you aready have and lose the middle pickup or put just the super distortion in the bridge or neck only and leave the trem/bridge as is.
I wouldn't mess with the routing unless it were to go full swimming pool. Not swimming pool, I meant weight-reliefed resonance chamber.
Also paint it pink if you're going to paint it and yes, you always need another pink guitar.

Re: mustang freak project incoming.
so. not a lot of word on this one for a while. until now.
ok. so bit of a story. my bandmate devan was playing every mustang we own between us (that's like 8 mustangs) and they say they want something like my purple mustang with a jazzmaster trem but still has that mustang pickup sound. i mention i have this white body laying around with bad routing and they say "no, i just want the strings behind the bridge, i don't want the trem" then basically raided my spares bin for everything to make this guitar a working guitar and just told me "make it work but make it cheap" so on my lunch at work, i've been popping next door, doing 10 mins with the router and getting back to work. it still has the sarah records sticker on the back.

For the record, the Sarah Records sticker won't be official. Sarah had no 'Records' appended, it was just Sarah.

Re: mustang freak project incoming.
update: it's now got new pickups and pickguard.
bridge pickup is an 80's super distortion. neck is a 70's musicmaster pickup. the musicmaster pickup has more treble somehow so i wired the switch upside down so it's less jarring. i'm gonna get some recordings of this monster tomorrow.
