Tonebomb Custom Guitars (Canada)
I’m sure some of you are aware of Tonebomb from Calgary, who have been on the scene for a few years. I recently became alerted to their new website, with custom neck/body building options.
I bought one of their bodies a few years ago and it is great, so hopefully their quality is still up there.
Anyway, it provides another option for those making parts-casters, and they have a nice graphic (a bit like warmoth) to show approximately how your custom build will look.

Re: Tonebomb Custom Guitars (Canada)
Interesting timing. Glad to see that you're happy with yours!
I ordered a black, nitro-finished alder body from them about 2 months ago. It's set to arrive in a few weeks. I'll be sure to update this when it does. It all looks great on paper, so I'm hopeful. That said, I did notice that they've had a few bad (other) forum posts regarding timing and orders that dragged on for a year until cancelled, etc. The posts seem to be from a few years ago, so hopefully they've got things sorted out now.
Fingers crossed!

Please let us know about your impressions when your stuff arrives.
I’m very tempted to take advantage of their 10% off sale at present….

I didn’t realize they were doing JM bodies or necks or paint.

Thanks for this. I've been looking for someone who will make a body with a particular set of options that they in fact have. And 10% sale. Now there's a new project to finally give a permanent home to the old ADH conversion neck.

I've looked with some interest at bodies they've posted on eBay but not bought any. Still curious though.

Re: Tonebomb Custom Guitars (Canada)
June 20: "Estimated completion time is for the middle of July."
July 27: "Our painter decided to use his vacation this week and next, leaving a few bodies to be completed when he gets back. We now expect it to ship mid-August."
That's 1. I'll accept this. I get it. Small business (I assume). It is summer... people need vacation. Cool.
If it were my business and I were blowing past dates, I'd be letting customers know and not wait for them to follow up with me. Maybe that's just because where I work, we are expected to be accountable. Still optimistic, though!
So stay tuned for my August 27 update! It'll either be a photo of my new JM body, or a mid-September delivery

^That's almost labour day weekend, we all know nobody works that weekend. Your new update is mid September.

That’s frustrating, but you seem to be taking it well (at least on the surface!). I really hope the end product is quality, then all will be forgiven. We’ll keep on keeping on!parry wrote: ↑Wed Jul 27, 2022 11:21 amJune 20: "Estimated completion time is for the middle of July."

His bodies are on par with the best of them BUT it can take a while for him to deliver. I do think it's worth the wait though.

That's not cool at all. Sorry to hear that Parry.
They should at least send a courtesy update.

Been hearing some horror stories about their finishing time but I also understand having finished with lacquer a bit myself. I noticed on their build the jazzmaster pickup routes aren't the larger traditional one. Does anyone know if that's just an artifact of their site builder?

Re: Tonebomb Custom Guitars (Canada)
Finally got mine. When I inquired, was told they'd had some machine failures over the summer and gotten behind. Agree that courtesy updates when they were going to miss the deadline would have been nice. Especially since they missed it twice. They did ship with DHL and once it was out the door it arrived very promptly, even internationally,
Looks pretty good all in all, especially given the price, but we'll see when I start prepping it and getting it together with parts.
