Could it be ToneBomb gives their estimates in light years?

That’s quite a development. According to your initial post, you ordered around May last year, yeah? That’s almost 9 months to produce your guitar baby, not too different from human gestation time. Have you thought of a name for your new baby when it arrives?
Based on that timing, my Tonebomb baby (order placed late July) should arrive around March.

You're correct on the dates. So.. as you know... I've had quite some time to meditate on this one...
I'd like to go with Timothée but of course, will demand that everyone pronounce it correctly. *whispers* 'Tim~o~tay"
All goofing aside, have you been checking in with them? I'll be sure to snap some pics and share my overall impressions of quality. I do hope this signals that they're on a roll and will push yours through sooner than that!

It's here!!
Will take (and post) photos in a bit. It's GOOD! I'm really very happy with it!
The cut of the body and nitro paint/aging couldn't be better
Very, very happy!

Re: Tonebomb Custom Guitars (Canada)
I made a custom order December 17th for a one pickup Jazzmaster with no controls and a side jack. December 28th I got an email saying:
I checked in again to see if it was close to being done and got this today.Hi Christopher,
Your order is on the shop floor and in the early stages of production.
I already knew the max run time was eight weeks, but to cnc a single pickup body (Essentially like an esquire but with contours added.) I didn't expect it would take that many more weeks from it being on the floor. I guess when I have made bodies by hand with ban saws, drill presses, and drum sanders, I could see it taking that long, but they use a CNC for the majority of the work right? Does it take a month and a half to finish sand a cnc body and drill a side jack hole?Hi Christopher,
The timelines can be found on our website.
A sanded body is running up to 8 weeks.
Your order is estimated for completion February 13th.
Thank you for your patience.
Christopher

Re: Tonebomb Custom Guitars (Canada)
Also, most of you know how much custom guitar stuff I like to get into. This is my first experience with them and I am not super impressed with the timeline. I suppose they could be overwhelmed and have too much backlog to go through. Maybe they should have a pop up window like warmoth that tells the lead times vs you having to dig around their website to find it? I don't know. Maybe I am too picky or entitled. LOL
I am a irritated in the same way by WD pickguards. I sent them a drawing for a Starcaster pickguard around Thanksgiving. I emailed them again after Christmas and was told it was in the queue with their custom shop. Nothing since then. Comparatively during the time I was trying to find a guard for my Starcaster, Lava guards contacted me, was able to fabricate me a custom bracket, and make me a pickguard, and ship it to me in this amount of time and they are outside of the US with a postal strike at the time and it still got to me already.
I know a few people don't like MJT for their timelines, but I respect that recently they added in emails that come out at each stage of the process and the email quotes how long it would typically be at a given stage. If it is taking a long time, that isn't a huge deal. What makes me mad is the lack of communication. If it has been a month and I have to reach out to say what is up, it makes me frustrated.

Re: Tonebomb Custom Guitars (Canada)
You guys have been so kind and patient
I actually broke my hip in a freak snowboarding accident, lol... so I've been moving pretty slowly with all things. Once I got off the heavy narcotics and started feeling better, I did get a chance to build it up and grab some photos while the sun is out.
Ultimately, I think Tonebomb did a great job with the body and paintwork. They gave me what I asked for, right down to the nasty "beauty" gash on the front. The cut of the body is really nice, everything fit... I'm more-or-less pleased with the final product. Could it have been a bit speedier? Could they benefit from better communication and/or a customer support training course...? Sure. But whatever. That's behind me now.
Soooooooooo... pics
And here's what it looked like with the custom Coromaster body - I migrated almost all of the parts from this guitar.
Sadly, after the wait and all is said and done...
I may or may not be haunted by thoughts to put the Coromaster back as it was
