Coming from you, I take that as an enormous compliment. I'm pretty sure I referenced some of your wiring diagrams!
Thanks dude ;D I'm glad! I've always thought information was to be shared and used 8)
It's super appreciated and concrete evidence of what a great community looks like. Out of curiosity, are you entirely self-taught or did you have training with regard to wiring schematics?
I agree. OSG is an amazing place :-*

I took an electronics class in high school, and I've worked in a maintenance-related field for most of my adult life, but guitar-level electronics is mostly self-taught or reading things from folks on here on the BYOC forum.

I really like what you're doing. "Playable art project" is pretty close to my operating principle too. Very inspiring stuff, makes me want to get busy! 8)

Thanks so much! Best compliment I could get. It's great that we essentially have a perpetual inspiration machine going here where we can each take and give inspiration.

Okay, @vpich and @Shadoweclipse13, how about a couple of photos of a project that got VERY daunting for me... a Jagcaster with two onboard delays?

I need to look back at my diagrams and notes to finish the wiring.

Hahaa, thanks... but this thing doesn't make any noise yet. I'm about 50% confident it will work as I have it planned and about 65% confident that it will work with only one of the delays functioning.

I am a complete hack. I have nothing memorized, I barely understand why the wiring works the way that it does, and my soldering is hot garbage. I've only got the intonation and action right on two out of the four guitars I've worked on so far. And I've accidentally burned my way through two pairs of work gloves while futzing with hot Dremel bits.

But I am ambitious, persistent, patient, willing to work through a lot of trial and error, and I'm not afraid to ask questions. I'm also good at finding helpful YouTube videos. And by nature, I like to solve problems. I'd like to think that I'm pretty good at pattern recognition, which helps in figuring things out.

This is all to say, I have fun making (A LOT of) mistakes and I highly encourage anyone interested to give it a shot. It's frustrating and satisfying. And I will happily answer any questions people have for me as long as they understand I'm definitely not a 100% reliable source.

If I am a wizard, I'm the wizard that accidentally turned himself into bunch of horrifying stuff first before getting a spell to work correctly and then presented it to the world with a flourish and a hearty "TA DA!"

It looks amazing as a piece of wood, pickups & wires.

The thought of a guitar with onboard delays is just awesome.

I don’t think it matters if it ever actually works or not… 8) 8) 8)

How are you powering the delays? That looks sick.

I had this same general thought about my first build before I started it. Worst cast scenario is that I end up with pretty wall art.

9 volt battery or batteries. I think I can make due with one but I had a double battery compartment routed just in case. I’m using a pair of the GFS delay boards.
