so, wee bit of an update. as always with jaguar builds, i've had to modify a pickguard that was meant to fit first time. but it turned out pretty ok imho. also, yes, that is a red switch tip.

and my friend pointed something out and asked for a picture.

i have a soft spot for 90's things in candy apple red that some people consider dated and passe.

s_mcsleazy, I'd be curious to know which penitentiary your former bandmate is currently doing time in on his pedophilia rap. Because I bet he is. :P

Back in the mid-late 80's, I owned a pink paisley Telecaster, ffs (one of those Japanese reissues), in a small town in Georgia (where the hair was high and the trucks were low). Care to take a guess at how much grief and horseshit I took from the resident Hank Jr./Molly Hatchet brigade? It just made me keep/play it longer. The idea of selling it never once crossed my mind.

it wouldn't surprise me. dude was pretty shady. tbh, he was one of those guys who thought his opinion was the only one. that got tiring after a while so i just blocked him on all social media

as i get older, the less i care about what my bandmates use, as long as they like it.

Exactly. It's their stuff, their tastes, their style, etc. I don't think I'd like to be in a hillbilly/rockabilly band with someone playing a neon green spider-web B.C. Rich, but if they were a player, nailing all the parts and were happy, that could just be a visual quirk/hook, I guess. Maybe the orange Gretsch thing is played-out and run its course at this point? :P

Not quite sure where goofball saw "gay" and "pedo" in a candy red Jaguar. Many of us would give our left something-or-other to own such a guitar. He sounds like a real peach.

so slight update. i got some parts from johnny, thanks again man, hope the cats love their treats. out of curiosity, i decided to look at the guitar with a set of black covers i had and....... well part of me is now debating if i should use these as the temp pickups OR just do my initial pickup plan. all i know is the thing looks pretty evil with the black covers and saddles.

I like both ideas but the angelic pearloid pickguard ain’t doing it for me with black pickups/saddles. YMMV

Damn cool guitar, BTW. 8)

You're welcome man. And, yes, they got a pack of Dreamies (always a sure fire winner).

I like the Black covers, they tie in with the knobs nicely IMHO
Silly Rabbit, don't you know scooped mids are for kids?

i agree but if it's anything like the pickguard on my black jaguar, it will age pretty quickly.

The black covers look pretty good, mostly because it ties in with all the other smaller black plastic components (knobs, wheels, switches).
