Shouldn't it be possible to just have the string wrap around the roller bar once and come up from below, rather than a half turn and exit from above? The way I'm thinking it should work mechanically at least, and would probably give you enough downwards pressure?Lost In Autumn wrote: ↑Sun Mar 27, 2022 12:45 pm

it does need a bit of fettling, still. It has a high or loose 2nd fret that's causing a little bit of buzz, and while the Bigsby B6 works adequately well, there's not even remotely enough break angle from the vibrato to the bridge. It doesn't buzz, but aggressive picking might knock strings loose, as there isn't much down tension at the saddles. I think a Bigsby B3 would sit lower on the arch top and provide a better break angle, so that will have to be sourced before we call it done.

that would make it work in reverse. I've fixed it with a Bigsby B70bodhi wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 2:06 amShouldn't it be possible to just have the string wrap around the roller bar once and come up from below, rather than a half turn and exit from above? The guitar I sprayed over the winter for DiPinto Guitars has received the finishing touches from the guru of glam, the professor of pawn shop guitars, Chris DiPinto.
Here's his caption from instagram: "I’ve been working on this new Galaxie for days. It’s called the Galaxie “Ins and Outs”. This fancy little prototype sports a built-in amp that has inputs and outputs. So you can run a cord from the “out” of the guitar into the “in” of the amp, which is the white jack. Then you can run from the “out” of the amp to another speaker cab! Or you can run directly into your amp and it works like a distortion box. This might be the first guitar that plugs into itself! Of course it sounds killer just as a regular electric guitar, too. And it works as a great little back-stage guitar that can also be your main touring axe. The dynamite green rainbow sparkle finish was done here in the States by our own Lance Lau @sparklemotionguitars !! This guitar is available (not pre-sold) for $1850 #galaxie4safari #galaxieinsandouts #insandouts #dipintoguitars #fishtown

Real curious to see that trem plate pre-install, underneath that’s a cool idea but I wonder how it would hold up

Underneath it all is a standard, import floating tremolo unit. The pickguard material is overlaid atop.

when this Music Man Stingray came to me, it had been a little banged up:

Re: Sparkle Motion Guitars Custom Builds and Projects
next up is smjenkins' '66 Jazzmaster, in for a re-refin in turquoise blue metallic. It had been poorly refinished- the original nitro is still underneath and the red from the 3 color burst was bleeding through, plus, it has the usual assortment of dings and dents that a 55 year-old guitar might have. ordinarily, I would hesitate to touch a vintage instrument, but given its current state, we can only improve things.

Perfect shade and body shape together. I never realized how much better I like this shape than any other offset Strat.Lost In Autumn wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 2:25 amwhen the sun hits after about 30 coats of clear, sanding and polishing:

Re: Sparkle Motion Guitars Custom Builds and Projects
I apologize for the lack of updates, I’ve been terribly busy with my 9 to 5 as a carpenter and construction manager, pulling 10-12 hour days in pretty intense heat and I’ve been too beat to spend much time in the glitter lab. On top of that, I had a little incident, a little over a month ago, while milling floor boards from a 200-year old farmhouse for adaptive reuse elsewhere on the project. My laborer missed a nail, but the table saw blade found it and shot it deep in my forearm. It could have been much worse; wear your safely glasses, kids! Last Wednesday, on my birthday, I had surgery and the doctor removed a 30mm cut nail from my arm. It’s healing fine and I’m looking forward to getting production back on schedule. I’ve got some really exciting projects lined up, though, stay tuned.
