The first step is going to be getting the popcorn off the pickguard.
I'm undecided on how to attack this spray paint. Should I sand it with a super fine grit, or somehow strip it? I'm worried that anything I use to strip the spray paint will also also melt the guard.
Long term it's getting changed over to SS with traditional switching, but no rhythm circuit, but with all the chrome. Still figuring out what bridge pickup and what color guard (black, parchment, or mint?)
Btw there are 500k pots in there. They might stay.

mild heat and see if it can peel off maybe? finer scratches can be buffed out with a buffing disc and compound but that’s a LOT of work for a $10-20 pickguard

Re: Another Player Jag conversion
Sanding with 400 grit yielded some surprises...
Why did you do this thing to me?
If I could find a player guard for $10-20, I would just do that, but since they all seem to be $30-40, I feel the need to try.
Pre-buffing/clean up
Where did my switch tip go?

All done. The bridge pickup is from the AVRI Jaguar, and the pickguard is allegedly supposed to fit the CP. It fit pretty well with some convincing. It's minty, which is really hard to photgraph.
Rather than pay some stupid price for "Official Pickup Foam" I just used two strips of the weather proofing foam that I got at Home Depot to fill the gap in the French doors in my kitchen. It seems to work fine.
There is black construction paper under the rhythm plate, because i have no use for that crap.
I am now down to 3 different shades of white, rather than the 4 i started with. I might swap out the trem tip eventually, but this is fine for now.
I am excited. I can't put this thing down now. More details/storytelling to come.
