I remember soldering a Fender Jaguar wiring harness for the first time many, many years ago. Back then, this was the diagram:

Needed a new Fender Jaguar Pure Vintage pickup set, and this came with it:

And from the same Pure Vintage pickup series, the Jazzmaster:

When soldering these harnesses for the first time, things have improved over time ;)

I think, id prefer to work off the older one.

Simple is good sometimes. What does bug me about older diagrams is the shitty resolution they've been scanned with.

old style is much easier for me to read. agreed with tribi that the scanned copies are an absolute wreck these days, but the basic electrical symbols are there: capacitors, switches, resistors, ground wires...
