10/10 classy and hipster in equal parts

so by extension 0/10 it's got a Floyd but no copious amounts of rainbow barf splatter paint or neon crackle?

I jest, I jest, that looks sweet and it's gonna be a hell of an player when it's done.

...and...we're done.

Pretty pleased with how the finish worked out, that matte Molotow top coat feel really comfy. And not having to pore-fill that ash was definitely a plus. I can see why more and more builders are going for it :)

I think I deepened the string guide a tad too much, I'll have to make another one of those, but it plays really nicely. This is my first guitar with stainless steel frets and I like them very much. Not much harder to work than nickel silver, but they definitely feel slicker.
The whole thing came out on the heavy side - that Floyd Rose weighs about a pound. I haven't weighed it but I'd say it's easily an 8 1/2 pounder. I'll try and keep that in mind in the future :)

Great job. Guitar builders take note. This is what designing a guitar is all about, not just copying and distorting something to call the design your own.

I'll repeat myself: this is pure geometric art.
Top notch work. Truly inspiring.

Are you going to put a decal, a chromed badge or your signature on the headstock?
I reckon something in yellow would be the icing on the cake :w00t:

This. So many times. Though I believe that it's probably not really what most people want, so it's not where the money might be available...

This is fantastic. And yeah, big slabs of ash, not light.

I missed this when you finished it in March. It's awesome. I love everything about it.... except the Floyd Rose. :)

Awesome build!

glad you bumped this, i would've missed it!

the floyd rose isn't my favorite either, but it doesn't look bad. overall, this is very similar to guitar i've wanted to build for years (color, shape, pickup choice... even the fret markers), and i'm very much a fan. excited to see what those bobkat builds wind up looking like too.

This looks fantastic. It's good enough to be a production instrument. Feels totally original.
