Oooo! Would love to hear more about this b/c I feel like I've traditionally heard that the Fernandes system was better. Apart from the flexibility to mix and match with other pickups, are there other distinct advantages?

Re: Post pictures of your Jazzmaster/Jaguar/Mustang with Alternative Pickups
This is what Alan (aka the Sustainiac man) told me:
"FYI, the GA-2 was sold to Fernandes in some quantity during 1989-1990 as I remember. Their guitars said Fernandes on the headstock, with the Sustainiac logo also there. They “designed around” our patents after that and made their own sustainer. It had some of the problems that the GA-2 did, and they supplied a bridge pickup with each kit that they recommended to replace existing bridge pickups.".
So the sustainer seems to be an outdated version of the Sustainiac. I might be wrong, tho.

Also, a luthier told me the sustainer wouldn't have worked very well with the Dimarzio single-coil humbuckers I used. Hope it helps!

A bit of a twisted EC tribute, my one piece walnut body Jaguar with WRHBs.

^ That's lovely!! The walnut/brown body with the maple neck is a KILLER combo.
Also, I love your avatar! I've been really craving going back through the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam lately...

Thanks man, yes I love the heavy contrast and I think maple is really the best fretboard material, I wish Fender would just allow us to choose whatever fretboard we wanted on all their lines!
Haha, that's crazy because I just got halfway through a rewatch a couple weeks ago. The "new" blu-ray release from a couple years back is quite excellent if lacking in extras. Highly recommend it if you are into collecting physical media.

I agree! I don't like maple on everything, nor rosewood/ebony/pau ferro on everything either. The fact that most of their necks are likely made by CNC, it would be amazing just to have the option of either for every model.kamillebidan wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 7:22 amShadoweclipse13 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 21, 2020 12:40 am^ That's lovely!! That's awesome! I've got the complete series on DVD, as well as the compliation movies (Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam: Soldiers Of Sorrow, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters In Space). I still haven't watched 08th MS Team, 0083, or Zeta Gundam though. My DVD collection is my pride and joy
(It's gotten bigger since this picture was taken)

Oh, I love all these guitars, but I especially love this!kdanie wrote:
The black lipsticks keep the classic Mustang aesthetic intact and the black domed knobs do the same while also playing off the rounded profile of the pickups and shifting both of those parts from plastic to metal. Those are really nice little details.
