Agreed, the Thunderbirds and the Goldo trem just make the whole thing look like a 60's muscle car.

Now I need to put Firdbird pickups in a Jazzmaster. Does anyone know of a conversion pickup ring using a standard Jazzmater form factor for the Firebird sized PUs? I'd like to not have to change pickguards if possible.

Great thread! Tons of obscure beauty and outside the box thinking. Time for an update with my HH collection, featuring my Jazzblaster.

Reclaimed California redwood(it was reclaimed in the 1960s- I have no way of knowing how old it actually is).
Reclaimed maple neck with wenge fretboard
Vineham old dog p90 bridge / goldfoil neck pickup.

I put Lollar mini humbuckers in my Jaguar today. That guitar has had a lot of different pickups in it, but maybe these are the ones that will stay.

is it possible (or even worth it) to do a p90 & a official JM pickup on the same guitar? would a pickguard even fit? which would be better in bridge or neck?

Plenty of people make JM-sized P90's. If I was to do it I'd opt for P90 in the bridge and JM in the neckbrettryantalley wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 7:10 pmis it possible (or even worth it) to do a p90 & a official JM pickup on the same guitar? would a pickguard even fit? which would be better in bridge or neck?
