Also, am I the only one struck by how odd the timing is that you just finished building the "corona master"? Every time I see this thread title pop up it evokes different associations than it did when it started last July...

Hahahaha, yeah. I was originally thinking something along the lines of the standard Coromaster (or leaning heavy toward nothing at all), but when I read the shenanigans above that post on page 4, it was like "sure". It has a more timely ring to it than "Jazzmanado"...
I'm fairly certain you're not offended by it, but just know that it wasn't intended to make light of the bigger picture.

Weird, I followed this thread from the beginning but missed that part of the discussion and thought it was literally a coincidence.parry wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:31 amHahahaha, yeah. Not offended in the slightest, though I do feel compelled to make a "Jazzmanado" at some point, because that's too funny of a word.

And here I was, playing the someday-maybe game in my head
"y'know... if I ever came in to money, maybe I'd reach out to Ron and see what it would cost to have him make me a custom black Coro like mine, but with a nitro finish and...."
LOL
Uhhhhhhhhhh...
NOPE.

That's because your currency is set to CAD.
That should only be $1200 US give or take..

Love this thing so much! My dream was to get a Starcaster reissue and have it routed the same way but when I took it to my luthier he poked the block thru the fhole and just told me he wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that because the wood was too brittle or shitty or something.
It wasn’t till after that, I messaged Mike Adam’s and he linked me to an Instagram post from Wes Boreland with guess what, 2 modified MP Starcasters with Offset Vibratos. I ended up putting a Les Trem on mine and while I like how that thing functions, it’s way too loose feeling and a million times over I’d prefer the OFFSET Vibrato.
Love this Coronado though!

Thank you. It was definitely worth the extra effort and push to convince the guy that did the routing for meMechanical Birds wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 12:28 pmLove this thing so much! The centre-block wood density crossed my mind (too), but I used a set of the course-thread, toothy Squire trem screws and it worked out beautifully. Plenty of bite and heft to it. Even with the angle of the arched-top, the trem functions smoothly and no tuning issues, buzz/rattle, etc. After tweaking the bend of the arm to accommodate the angle, you wouldn't notice any difference in functionality between it and a flat JM body.
My 335 is nervous every time I play the coro and use the trem

Funny...I commented when you'd gathered all the parts, then completely missed the whole build, only to return now & marvel at the result (which, judging by the name you chose, seems like highly appropriate behaviour).
Well done! That's a very lovely looking guitar!

Thank you! I used the Coro almost exclusively on our band's recordings. It's a really easy guitar to work with.
