King Buzzo: I love when people come up to me and say “Your guitar sound was better on Stoner Witch, when you used a Les Paul. “...I used a Fender Mustang reissue on that, dumbass!

Best Strat improvement one can do! Love the mini toggle switchers for each single coil as well

That's neat to find out it was a strat with EMGs all along. I wonder how many tone gurus called that. I'm gonna guess...not many.
Playing bass has gotten me more and more into active pickups, but I've never owned a guitar with them. It's long-established internet lore that they all automatically sound "sterile" whatever that means. I should probably try some.

I want to try EMGs for sure - even high impedance actives (like the G&L Espada or F100E, that just use an active preamp with ‘regular’ pickups.)

Re: Strat body without usually drilled output jack
Just wondering:
Has anyone yet spotted an online shop where you can buy pre-painted strat bodys without the usual outputjack position? Or maybe even without the usual outputjack position AND the usual drillings for the standard tremolo? I know I know: warmoth could do so. However it's pretty prizy and I'm just off for a cheap DIY project

You might find one at guitarfetish.com
They will still have the jack hole drilled but they will have non trem bodies.

The jack socket on this reminds me of my "pre" Alternate reality mash up of strat.body/must,trem/jazz,neck.FinallyBlossom wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2019 3:34 pmFender used to build a Strat series where the output jack was on the pickguard itself. Unfortunately I can't find a pic of such a Strat model however the Fender Bullet is built the same way:
My idea of a Tele like output jack on a Strat is just a personal thing because I think that's the best position to avoid a conflct between the vibrato arm and your hand/picking during playing.
Wanted a more tele pickup config.. opening up the jack routing on my robert cray hard tail body for a mega versitile switching set up.
Series/Parallel/N/B/out of phase/bass cut.

1983 “Dan Smith” Strats put the jack in the second tone spot.
