this looks great! excellent project and resultraphaël wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 6:40 amAND THE MAVERICK XII IS OFFICIALLY COMPLETED !!!! DONE !!!!
I'm stoked and happy and this is the end of an adventure, which is always a good and weird feeling.
The guitar is everything I dreamt of : beautiful (to me), awesome sounding and easy to play.
It was quite something when I got Dan's last pieces. I did some adjustment work, the wiring (I'm quite pleased with how it turned out, the guitar is dead silent, no hum, no anoying electrical sound ) and a quick setup and it was done.
I can't stop playing that guitar since the last 5 days, it's awesome and perfect.
pics now !!
(some seem to be the same but they are not, it's just to get an idea of the "very hard to capture" color)
As you can see, I had some extra radio knobs to put on it. They fit perfectly with the overall design...cream and gold.
Well, having an electric XII is a great addition to my sound.
I'm thinking about what to do next now
The Coronado, for sure.
And then the JM...unless something else pop up !!
Oh, and also, even if it doesn't have split pickups, and even if it's custom made...I HAVE A MAVERICK !!!!! a XII one !!!!!
XII (DONE !!!!! page 3 ) and Coronado (DONE !!!!! page 4 ) projects. The JM??

I had the pleasure to meet Raph, his lovely wife and children today... and pretty much all of his amazing guitars
...and this wonderful Maverick XII of which I'd never before heard of (or, seen this thread).
IT BLEW ME AWAY IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
Great work y'all... all the involved. I'm a proud original Maverick owner but still, I'm jealous too!

Re: XII (DONE !!!!! ) and JM and Coronado projects
I'm toying with the idea of doing an electric 12 build... Can you tell me why you decided to do one? The only things that's stopping me from pulling the trigger is I had an acoustic 12 once, and I seldom played it too long after getting it. But then again, it was an acoustic, and I seldom ever play any acoustic. I've never owned or even played an electric 12. but I'm being tempted... Thanks for any and all input. This is a beautiful build BTW!

I finally finish building a guitar, go to play it, and then remember, "oh yeah, that's right. I suck at playing... Why did I build another guitar again?"

Re: XII (DONE !!!!! ) and JM and Coronado projects
Hey everyone,
I've been putting my guitar addiction on hold for almost a year now, but I'm back into it. And comming on OSG was'nt helping. At all.
Anyway, this is my late reply to yours :
Thank you all very much for your very kind comments.
This guitar is a big part of my sound arsenal, it's perfect to play and that Coronado neck is
Why a XII electric AWS?
Because I like the sound and I realized that what I am playing was in geat need of this sound. I'm glad I did this build.
Cheers all !!

Re: XII (DONE !!!!! ) and Coronado (DONE !!!!! ) projects. The JM??
3 years went and the Coronado is finally done !!!
I had it refined in what is supposed to be Sherwood Green over LPB.
I did a mistake because I wanted Sherwood Green over CAR
But I'm very happy this way, this green changes every hours of the day. Sometimes it's very dark, sometines it's emerald green, or green racing, etc.
It's incredible .
The relic is super light (the refiner didn't want to work on it if he didn't do a relic job. Fine by me. So I went very light. And it's perfect!!). In real life it really looks like it's from '66 / '67. All my friends and guitar students actually thought it was.
I got it 2 to 3 weeks ago I guess after it goes away 3 months in the process. The joy to have it back and done is insanely high.
It's a pleasure to play and to look at !!
I can't stop playing it.
Oh ! And thanks to lastlol on here (thank you again Laurent!!!), I've found the perfect knobs and the black closed Strat pickup cover I needed to "finsih" the guitar. It wasn't before. You know the feeling I'm sure
Here are a loooot (a ton? to much??) of pictures. I tried to catch the different shades of green.
Thanks for watching !
And have a great day.

The Coronado is breathtaking. Imo, it needs an F plate, but otherwise I am head over heels. Enjoy!
