I'm also making an additional guitar for practice, as a hard rock/metal guitar, that I'll sell eventually. This is the dense ash body that I'll paint (likely Kiwi). I plan to match the headstock and do black hardware again. This will get a single Humbucker TBD and a volume on a black guard.
I think it needs a kill switch.

Great idea! There's plenty of space for one too.

Some black nitro courtesy of copacetic.

I have the neck finished in nitro, with a black headstock and a custom decal. The Jescar 47104 (medium-jumbo) frets have been leveled, dressed, crowned and polished. The wiring is mostly done, save a few ground wires and the jack. I just got back in town from a long weekend away, and am going to start working on a black buffalo horn nut.

Here's a few pics of the wiring

I basically followed the original Tele plus wiring, with the addition of a Kinman volume bleed and a mini kill switch.

Oooh, cool! I love the sticker indicating the 12th fret ;D Any more of those to match the Lace sensor pickup colors there?

It might be too much on the nose, but it might look fun with those kind of stickers you can put on a piano keyboard here and there on the fretboard
Jazzmaster project (got a body, placeholder neck, some pickups and ideas)
Tokai Telecaster Thinline with Creamery Pickups Filtertron and Tapped Tele
Blake Mills-inspired Strat project w/ Gold Foil and slide pickup

That's not a sticker, but an inlay rather.

faux red coral inlay blank

It's slightly oversized (3/8" Dia.) for emphasis. It's an attempt to make the guitar feel just a little bit extra custom and personal. I'll also be including an extra red switch tip as part of the "case candy".

Strings are on, I just need to fine tune the rather rough nut now. With everything together, I was finally able to weigh it and was very pleased to see that it is 6lb3oz. Next, I strapped it on to check for neck dive and it balances perfectly!

I'll post some final pics and specs soon, this is just a quick update to let you all know that she loved the guitar. I had brought over my little Yamaha THR10C so she could try it out. To her great delight, she was absolutely nailing the clean tones on Siamese Dream songs with the Blue Lace Sensor.

I also gave her a few cheap pedals that needed a new home. As it turns out, she was looking for a Rat, wanted a new delay, and was having issues with her overdrive pedal, so she should get some good use from these.

*edit to add that everybody loved the cookies I made too. ;D
