I will say this, it should be impossible to be unhappy with any of those pickups at 45% off. Makes me slightly cranky that I just bought so many for much more than that.

If it helps, Mike, the Jazzmaster pickups are for the 14" or whatever radius, and the string spacing is not for more narrow bridges like the Mastery. What is that wider measurement, 55mm? It's that.
Back in those days, everyone knew that if you were talking about Destiny's Child, you were talking about Beyonce, LaTavia, LeToya, and Larry.

^basically they are good for 9.5” radius and traditional Jazzmaster and mustang bridges, not Mastery, Staytrem or the updated American Pro bridges.

Perfect for say a stock American Original Jazzmaster or the current range of Fender Japan Traditional 60s Jazzmasters.

It seems that the Jazzmaster pickups are the least popular (maybe due to the specs) as everything is almost cleared out since I posted the heads up a few hours ago.

Yeah at these prices I might order a set of P90s just to keep for a future guitar

Well, they were still in stock, so I bought a couple of the P90s. Puts me two thirds of the way to replacing the pickups in this:

Currently that guitar has some hum-cancelling Fralin pickups with Alnico rods. They sound not at all as good as what Chris makes.

It'll be nice having that guitar be up to speed, it really is a great playing guitar.

OK, you all convinced me to try Kinmans!

However, I'm confused regarding the magnet spacing options for the Kinman pickups.

Kinman recommends:
  1. 52mm bridge & 50mm neck for Vintage USA bridges (55.3mm saddle spread)
  2. 50mm & 47.5mm for Narrow bridges such as Mastery, Tune-O-Matic etc (52mm saddle spread)
I have a bridge with a nominally 52.5mm saddle spread (I measure it at 53 mm). So, according to Kinman's web site the best choice would be option B (50mm & 47.5mm).

But if I measure the E-E string spacing above my guitar's pickups, I get 52mm over the bridge pickup and 49mm above the neck pickup. I would think that option A (52mm & 50mm) would be better, no?

The last couple of pages cracked me up, with Kinman turning up and busting us for crapping on his pickup names (guilty) and calling him kooky, then proceeding to explain himself in the classic Aussie self-deprecating fashion.

As for the names, I hadn’t previously considered ‘Thickmaster’ to be pornographic, as Larry suggested, but now i definitely do! Why not continue the theme with names like ‘Heavy Pounder’ or ‘Grindr’.

But perhaps slightly more sensibly, as an alternative to Punk-Tang - since Mr Kinman invited naming suggestions - i’m gonna chuck this in the mix: “Stang Kerrang!”

Well, everything is pornographic to me. It's a mixed bag.

I looked up the mustang pickups. Still unsure punk vs grunge which would be the high output ones.

Luckily no Amazon sale in the UK so not priority for me

It seems after Larry copped his there was just 1 left so I was like F it, and ordered the last P90 set.

I don’t have an appropriate guitar to put them in yet and am wondering if I can stuff them under a blank Jazzmaster cover and drill the holes for the poles 🤔

I'm a little skeptical of that, why not take this as an exciting opportunity to get a new guitar?

You need to go to Amazon US or the coupon wont show up, but they don’t have any Mustang pickups available.

There's still a Stratocaster set that would be a tremendous deal.

I don’t know man, I love the thick sound of a P90 in a heavy Les Paul but I just keep coming back to the Jazzmaster due to comfort and playability. My heart is thinking “try a Les Paul Special SC”, but my brain is like “why waste time? Just go straight into a JM”
