Very impressive work! Love how you turned the little headstock mishap into a feature.
Have you done anything like this before? Must be great to have all those tools and professional at your disposal when needed.

This turned out great. You should be very proud. Impressive recovery on the headstock tear out. I feel like the ability to overcome those little obstacles, turn flaws into features, and keep moving forward, is what really makes the difference between a poor craftsman and a good one. It's not how you start, it's how you finish, and all that kind of thing. Keep up the great work!

Thank you very much. I do my own setups and soldering,. Last year I got my first real practice on an old, unplayable German archtop. Replaced the fretboard and refretted it, and also installed a trussrod. Yes the wood shop is great. You pay per daypart + a premium for the machines you use. I think I spent approx 100 euro.

It seems I shall be keeping up the good work....
.... as I bought this swamp ash body blank from someone who used to build guitars and is now selling his leftovers. It's beautiful and has been stashed away for 10 years. A steal at 75 euro. My second Jazzmaster body is coming up...!

Looks like a nice piece of ash for a Mary Kay finish, or something else which might display the grain. Will look forward to seeing the next one as well. I also developed much of my skillset for paintwork from owning and maintaining older (mostly 1970's) Datsun, Toyota and VW. There are certainly some parallels between the 2 hobbies.
One parallel is that if you aren't careful, before you know it, you've thrown more money at a project than you ever intended to

Agreed on that parallel.
Mine was a 64 Lincoln Continental. Parts prices doubled over the course of the decade. A rebuilt power steering pump now costs as much as a second hand player series Jazzmaster.

Changed the string trees to Fender Vintera ones. They look nice.
Also fine tuned the neck by taking a little bit of material off the shoulder, bass side between the 1st and 3d fret.
