I am really digging a lot of these! I have a request. A Super Sonic with a Jazzmaster trem. I don't dig they way it normally looks.

here you are! Glad you got a kick out of them!
Thank you! Are you going to build any of these things you're posting?

Most definitely, these are all ideas I have loose plans to make in the future. The main obstacle is funding them, as I'm just one guy and some of them are quite high-spec. Still, all of these come in much cheaper than your typical custom built instrument and will have "budget" versions available to be ordered with squier necks and parts, etc to cut costs back a bit.

I have a Non-reverse firebird/jazzmaster mashup guitar in the works, as well as a Contoured Jag Stang "Done Right" w/ jag trem.
Both will more or less look exactly like the renders and should be finished up in 1-2 months

Another weirdo Bronco idea, with a bronco bass style pickguard. (side note: any opinions on two-tone finishes like the pink/green?)

i like non-matching headstocks but the pink guard is a little weird, though there wouldn't be much pink without it i guess. the non-matching headstock kinda makes it look like something that was scrounged up from random parts which kinda fits the theme of these i think.

I explored the possibility of a Meteora with a JM tremolo for my next build (although I ended up switching to a strat one, a Vegatrem). It would be very near the rear end of the body. You can shorten the distance between bridge and tremolo, but the feel will be different (example J Mascis Jazzmaster).

But with a 24" scale neck you can move the bridge and vibrato away from the body's rear edge, enough so routing is safe. Also, it's better if you reduce the forearm contour a bit.

Example:

What software did you use to make these renders? I'm dreaming up a guitar myself and I would love to use some real software instead of just Illustrator.

Is it CAD? Or some type of vector stuff?

That was done in illustrator, I'm afraid ^_^U

For 3D I've been recommended Fusion360 and TinkerCAD, but I haven't tested them yet. Haven't touched any CAD software since 2007 I think.

That's awesome! How did you make it so accurate? Did you use image references along with measurements or did you manage to find some templates or plugins of some kind?

I used many templates and completed the missing info with pictures. I found no Meteora templates, so I made a mockup of a Meteora on top of a Jazzmaster on Photoshop. Then I loaded Jazzmaster template on Illustrator and put the mockup on top of it, and drew the Meteora body.

For the neck, which is 24", I used a Jaguar template, that was useful for properly placing the bridge.

For the strat pickups, same approach: Strat template placed over the drawing, and then I adjusted the pickups position as there was a little less space due to the bridge being closer to the neck.

I actually made this because I want to build a Meteora with a Sustainiac system, and needed to know if there would be enough space for the circuit board. The (rear) route was customized for that.

Once I made sure everything would fit, I sent this to the luthier who's building the Meteora body, neck and pickguard. He'll finish the design on whatever CAD software he uses. He actually began working on this last week, and I'll have the pieces around September. Then I'll give them, along with the pickups, tuners, tremolo, etc to another luthier to assemble and setup everything.

I called this project "The Mixteora" (XD) due to having Meteora body, strat pickups and trem, and Jaguar neck (and it also had a JM bridge, but I recently changed my mind and went for a strat VegaTrem). So much looking forward to have it in my hands! :) And if I dig the guitar as much as I expect, I'll most likely build a second one with different colour and woods :)

Sure! I'll certainly post pictures here when it's done ^_^

This will be my third custom guitar iteration, after a strat and a jazzmaster (both with Sustainiac). I hope I nail everything this time and don't feel the need to make a new build to improve anything or try something new, and also that nobody makes a new body shape as sexy as the Meteora, which was what led me to start this new build! XD
