I wouldn't want to sacrifice the forearm contour in exchange for binding. I think the Elliott Peter Stroud Tonemaster has a forearm contour with painted on binding. Not to my taste, but it's a clever way to have both.

THIS.
I've done one with a single Supertron and Staytrem that is unreal.

Hey SF1993 could you please post your sources? I'm particularly interested in the sonic greyish P90 model and the one above that. also in that petrol with tortoise and those "Aerodyne-esque" Black with matching headstock.
by the way, I own a Thinline Jag that I modded a bit over the years...

Hey Fuzz, it’s been a while since I posted. Gonna have to see if I can dig them up again, no promises
Off the top of my head, that grey p90 is a kauer guitar. And the black matching headstock was a parts caster. I think the owner mentioned warmoth. MJT could cook something very similar.
And sweet jaguar! I’ve been gassing for one recently.

thanks a lot! It was a nice guitar - now it's a wonderful guitar! :-)
and thank you for rolling up that case again! would be nice to track them down! I didn't see even a similar one on the Kauer website...but could be a much older model.
a partscaster seems to be a good way too...

Hey!
It's been a while.
But as my plans of getting my own double bound offset built are taking up forms.
Already contacted MJT and all the major neck builders... but no one seems to be doing (correct) B&B Fender style necks recently.
And I simply can't put a <100$ neck on a >1500$ guitar. Plus those chinese necks also do look cheap.
Warmoth has necks with block inlays for 205 - 250$ but if you'd let them make a completely identical neck + binding - it says 627$ something. Which is way out of my budget. And somehow strange to me. Why triple the price for something that they state with 110$.
And: final point: just received the answer.
I asked Kauer about the one stoptail p90 jazzmaster, what color they used? Their answer was that this wasn't one of their babies!
Could you please try to look it up again?
Thank you very very much!

The one that caught my eye out of all of 'em is the black w/ white binding Bass VI..
It looks like - in both pics- it has a forearm contour, too. Gorgeous stuff
!
SF1993,
I know your OP was a couple of years back..do you remember any details ? All the 4 guitars in the shot have Fender decals, so..Custom Shop ? Fender necks, aftermarket bodies ? Repro decals on custom necks ?
Thanks, man..great thread & some really beautiful guitars.
Best,
Jeff.

What about that one? do you have any details about this guitar? It's not a Kauer. :-)
